Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

So I thought I lost my Soundcore Liberty 3 Pros but it turns out they got buried underneath my couch padding for the past 3 months. Anyways, I had recently picked up the Spinfit Omni in Large size, and they are a real saving grace for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro with a much more reliable fit than the...

    Sony MDR-1AM2 - Impressions Thread

Longtime MDR1AM2 user here. I've mostly been using wireless gear lately and these are the my last wired-only headphones. I never thought of them as bright or fatiguing until recently. Back then I more enjoyed the Audio-Technica house sound which was brighter (like the MSR7 and M50x), but...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

They're 169$ CAD for Boxing Day which is the same sale price they had intermittently since last year (Black Friday, Prime Day, etc.), but this year the blue ones seem more readily available and not just an online exclusive. I have the cream ones which are my daily driver because of the ANC and...

I'm wondering the same as well. I feel very caged in with Samsung because of the lack of AptX HD or Lossless support and AAC performance is terrible (worse than the Note 9). While LDAC is generally solid at home I get a fair amount of dropouts when commuting or using them in a busy area. With...

@Prutser Somehow the distortion got fixed after a few months, so it might have been a Bluetooth driver issue with both my phone and PC. I agree the ANC is great and well ahead of its price point, better than the Soundcore Q30 and 1More SonoFlow, and I prefer the sound signature to those two...

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)

Tried the Voca Max again at another shop but was a bit underwhelmed this time. This unit had a more creaky headband (I didn't notice this the first time around but it is a big pet peeve of mine). Was able to hear the 1MORE Sonoflow beside it this time, which had a tighter sub-bass but more...

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (On or Over Ear Headphones)

I finally tried the XROUND Voca Max, a Bluetooth ANC headphone from a Taiwanese brand. It defaulted to surround sound on which did not sound good but once I turned it off and enabling LDAC it was very competent. Wasn't able to test ANC extensively but it seems quite respectable. A bit odd it...

In Taiwan but I feel somewhat underwhelmed by the current TWS lineup considering I brought Linkbuds S, Liberty 3 Pro and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro with me. I haven't checked the tech markets yet though. XROUND VOCA seems promising but not too keen on stems, the VOCA Max (over-ear) seems like a good...

Any impressions on the XROUND Voca Max? Taiwanese brand which seems to offer a lot of what Soundcore Q45 and Edifier WH950NB. They also support their Thunder Connect Bluetooth transmitter which minimizes latency using a special connection protocol. I did see one Taiwanese reviewer who said it...

They seal fine on my ears, but the ergonomics are poor. Although they do actually stay in my ears most of the time, the fit "feels" loose. I wish the eartips were larger (the largest ones are smaller than some medium tips I've had on old IEMs!). They are my main daily driver because depending...

On the S23 Ultra I find LDAC performance ratherinconsistent. At home it works quite well but occasionally crackles especially when near other BT devices, and is sometimes unusable on my commute (AAC is worse as the highs often distort). It also always defaults to adaptive bitrate and you can...

Correction, it seems the Galaxy S23 Ultra does indeed use Qualcomm WCN7851-101 FastConnect 7800 WiFi 7, 6, & 6E & Bluetooth 5.3 transceiver which just makes the lack of AptX HD/Adaptive/Lossless support all the more disappointing.

Google Pixel series only uses the Samsung modem for mobile networks. Bluetooth and other things are handled with a Broadcom BCM chipset. Can't find any teardowns with specifics for the S23 Ultra but since S21 Ultra Samsung has also been using BCM chipset whether or not they used Snapdragon or...

I've only used Galaxy Buds 2 Pro for 4 days. I find the seal very finicky as well, especially on my left ear. Changed to the largest eartips improved the seal but occasionally the flange flips back when fitting them on. It's an anoying issue I've never noticed this before with previous GBuds...

I've tried clearing Bluetooth cache as well as the cache partition and the issue still persists. I did notice it seemed less obvious on some devices than others. It's barely noticeable on the Soundcore A40 compared to the other devices I mentioned. (I'm not sure if this is due to the bass being...
