    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

Unfortunately auditioning equipment is pretty much impossible where I come from.  I'm already buying the LCD-2 sight unseen (or unheard, rather).  It's nice to know this hobby hasn't stopped growing and evolving, but I've been pretty happy with my Stello DA100 > GS-1 > HD650 combo for years...

    Amp recommendations for Audeze LCD-2

After scrounging enough together to finally take the plunge on the Audeze LCD-2, I'm now slightly skeptical of the amp I'll be pairing them with.  I've been happy with a HeadAmp GS-1 for many years now, but it outputs 1W, where from what I gather it takes 2W to get the LCD-2 to sound as they...

Looking for new headphones around the $1k mark...advice needed

I like a lively and musical, warm even, sound.  Feeling really involved with what I'm hearing is really important to me.  For many years now I've been enjoying an HD650 with a Blue Dragon v2 cable (...?  Been so long I can't even remember) almost exclusively, through a Headamp GS-1 and sourced...

Advice/Suggestions on my first speaker setup...

Or 'high end one' anyway... My options for speakers are limited to B&W or Paradigm (I live in the middle of nowhere, and shipping for new or used speakers would be astronomical...) with only two decent audio shops in town. My room is 13'x13', with some furniture (bed/computer desk/shelving...

Seeking advice on headphone up to $250

Considering you'll mainly be using the headphones for movies and television, I'd go with the Beyer DT 770-80 if I were you. They're superb for movies, and I can wear them for hours they're so comfortable.

First (closed) headphones for a newbie...

Considering your music preferences, and that you'll be using them for gaming and movies, you simply cannot go wrong with the Beyer DT770-80 IMO.

GRADO HEADPHONES : how much have you climbed the ladder ?

My first and only Grado: RS-1. I love them so much that I'm not sure I can justify spending all that it would cost to move up the Grado chain...

    RS1 + c-pads????

Quote: DrOctagon, thanks for the pics. Which color is that? Even if the colors are off, do they come as close to the button color as they appear (I'm trying to match a HF1 button)? Also is that the Zeta Flat or Bowl? Mine are Bubinga Ported Zeta Flat C-Pads. The bubinga matches the...

    RS1 + c-pads????

I can't imagine listening to my RS-1s anymore without C-pads... Sorry for the crappy pictures, I'm not much of a photographer (colors look really quite off too...they don't look much like the pictures at all in real life, but you get the idea). Here ya go:

    dt770 for computer usage

I'm pretty sure I have a head slightly smaller than average, and they fit just fine. Easily the most comfortable of my three main headphones (HD650 and RS-1 being the other two). I wear glasses as well, and while they clamp your head slightly, I don't notice any extra pressure on the glasses...

    dt770 for computer usage

Lately I've been using my DT770s more than my other headphones due to how much time I spend in front of this stupid computer... They get the job done and then some. I've got mine running through an old CHA47 amp...sounds great. Ideal headphones for gaming and movies, to boot.

    Which headphones for gaming?

Beyer DT770 all the way for gaming and watching movies. They've got great directional sound (easy to pinpoint where things are happening in game), and awesome bass, plus they are nice n comfy.

Ready to upgrade, need balance between gaming and hip-hop

Beyer DT770-80 Pros. I use them for hip hop duty and gaming use, just as you're intending, and they perform fantastically for both. And wow, I can't believe someone else on these forums listens to People Under the Stairs! Cool ****, I must say.
