Which headphones for gaming?

Beyer DT770 all the way for gaming and watching movies. They've got great directional sound (easy to pinpoint where things are happening in game), and awesome bass, plus they are nice n comfy.

how would headphones enable you to hear sounds coming from behind you? it is hard for me to understand. there are only 1 speaker/driver per L/R channel right? so are you saying, if you hear the sound, and can't see it on the screen, then you assume its behind you?

Well in battlefield 2 the sounds coming from behind change slighlty, i.e. become slightly muffled with a different tone, which gives the impression of it being behind you. Its difficult to explain but it works beautifully with headphones, better than a standard 2 speaker setup.
