SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
I picked up the Super Litz 4.4mm, I'm really interested in trying the balanced output on the 1A, but haven't yet. Good to know about the SXC-8 and Gold 16. We'll see how deep down the rabbit hole I go. :)- fjbruening

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
So, I wanted to thank several folks on this thread - I've pulled the trigger on a wm1a, and couldn't be happier with it's performance, bank vault like build, and it's UI. Plus it played music for 28 hours before dying. Now that's a battery. I'm in the process of de-cluttering in preparation of...- fjbruening

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
Rookie question: I just received my wm1a (thx Amazon), and loaded it up with a several albums, flac quality or better. I first tried my Senn660's , and found the tonality and clarity quite good (considering the WM hasn't broken in at all, however, I found the volume fairly quiet and lacking...- fjbruening

SONY NW-WM1Z / WM1A
OK, I've been skimming thru the 2300+ pages of this thread for several days, and have decided to take the plunge on getting a wm1a. Amazon will have it to me next week. Paying retail for tech 4 years old seems almost dumb, but given all the praise I figured I'd keep it for a long time... It...- fjbruening

Trying to come up to speed on the 1A. it looks like a nice unit, and i'm looking for a DAP to last me years. I don't tend to buy much gear (who am I kidding, beautiful guitars on the wall, wonderful golf clubs in the garage). I"m concerned that it's already several years old, and I would think...- fjbruening

Bowers & Wilkins PX7 noise-cancelling over ear headphones
I've been in the market for a nice set of BT HP's, 90% of the time for use at the office, and the other 5% travel (where I would be concerned with ANC). I'll do a more complete review but let me just say - build quality is really nice! I don't know what people are expecting, these seem...- fjbruening

Cascade Headphone by Campfire Audio
Have about 200 hours in the Cascades now - I still haven't played with the filters and frankly don't want the bother for now. I suppose it's my ears/brain getting used to the sound signature, but these seem to pick up more and more detail over time. Very early on I listed to Ravel's Bolerao...- fjbruening

NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas
I've been using the Comets at work via Tidal -> PC -> Comets. I've been quite pleased with that setup. Then I brought my Mojo from home. Wow. More impact and musicality. The Comets scale really well when amped. I'm finding it hard to work w/o sitting slackjawed staring into space as the music...- fjbruening

I just snorted my coffee at your description of the Case inside - well done! And you said you didn't have the descriptive lexicon that your fellow head-fi.org brethren possess. Ha! Nice review, thanks. Francis- fjbruening

Thanks! I didn't realize this. I guess I don't know what the Comet cable is really compatible with. I do know it works with my iphone, but I don't have an android device to test it on.- fjbruening

Not sure what android compatible means, but the Comet cable terminates in a customary 3.5mm plug. To listen with my iphone 8 I slap on the 3.5mm to lightening connector from Apple.- fjbruening

Ok, I've been listening for a few hours to the Comet's I picked up this afternoon, and I think CFA make a big mistake on the pricing, these things are stupid good for their price. Seriously, how much better can the Atlas be for 6x the cost?!? They blow away my Etymotic 4p's, and are a joy to...- fjbruening

That's a good question - In listening 'heavy' music (EDM, Trance) you certainly get a beefy low end, which is, IMO a delicious change from my Ety's. I just listened to the Interstellar OST by Zimmer, which has a lot of mids and top end, and it sounded very nice; not thin or sibilant. If I had...- fjbruening

I don't know - I just listening to Massive Attack - Mezzanine - Angel and am blown away at how good the intro sounds coming from the little Comets... quite impressive for $200 IEMs. Well done CFA!- fjbruening

Got excited to realize the comet's are available now. Saw the unboxing video by Hawaiibadboy (thanks for that!,) and trust his opinion, so I called up ALO and ran down at lunch to pick up a set. Yes, I live in Portland. Back at the office, and I swapped out my tried and true Etymotic 4p's for...- fjbruening

Cascade Headphone by Campfire Audio
My cascades spent most of the week on a stand getting pink noise pumped thru them. Probably have about 150 hours. I'm done formally burning them in. I'm tired of not having them to listen to in the evenings. Frankly I don't notice much (any?) improvement after another 4 days of burn in. They...- fjbruening

I have played them with and without the Mojo. All my playing is thru Tidal HiFi via a macbookpro, unless I can get MASTER quality for a particular album. I use a USB connection from my mbp to the Mojo, and plug my Cascades into the Mojo. While they sound good w/o the Mojo (directly into a PC...- fjbruening

That's an excellent question. Do we have any semi-official guidance on what constitutes "broken-in? Initially I played pink noise for about 2 days thru them at 70% of my macbookpro. Now I've read some people are burning them in for 200+ hours? Also, is there an optimal volume? Can you go too...- fjbruening

I'm at work, and just listened to Art Blakey - Moanin via Tidal Master, thanks for the introduction, very nice and sounds good on my Etymotics. I'll try with my cascades this evening and let you know if it sounds odd.- fjbruening

Been listening about a week, burned in 3 days with pink noise. macbook/Tidal MASTER -> Mojo -> Cascade Wow. I'm not a huge EDM guy, but several of the Prodigy's early albums leave me incredulous - unreal presence and gobs of energy. Not hot, but so in your face. Smack my Bitch up and Thunder...- fjbruening

I'm noticing the same thing, if the headband is not pushed in all the way, there is a bit of looseness if you gimbal around the earcups. I wish it didn't do that, but it doesn't make noise when on your head. If the headband is pushed in all the way the noise goes way down or away altogether...- fjbruening

Just a quick update - 8 hours of burn in with pink noise, otherwise brand new. Just listened to male / female vocals (Seal - Seal US version) and (Basia - Time and Tide) thru tidal on my mac, no dac/amp. Wow. I love how the vocals are so present, smooth and big. I've always liked Basia, but...- fjbruening

re: Post #354 Love the pic! I have a mojo that I love, and I've been looking for something like a DAP, but am starting to think getting the mojo/poly combo might be an interesting way to play music. How do you like that mojo/poly combo as a 'DAP'? I'm very intrigued by the Cascades - I...- fjbruening
