line outs are typically 2V for efficiency (perhaps), so if it is at 1V, things might feel a bit restrictive (perhaps), maybe some sound science guys here can explain

When I read about the Dragonfly, reviews said it did not do a complete unfold of the MQA files. The technical aspect was over my head, but I’m wondering if the Ztella does a complete or partial unfold.

Both are only MQA renderer. The 1st unfold must be done by software (tidal app, roon, UAPP + mqa addon etc)

My iphone is my main phone and will remain so, but I'm reading that these LG phones do a complete unpack and might make a nice media player to have around the house which is where 90% of my critical listening will be.

it really depends on what functionality you want.. ztella (has mqa option), ibasso (balanced output but no mqa), atom pro (size maybe?)

Yes, I read about the properties of all devices and I know them. I don't need balance and MQA in the first place. The most important is the best sound quality and large sound stage.

The Ztella Mqa version with the better chip inside has a very airy and wide soundstage.
Don't expect miracles thought from such a small device.
