The well traveled and clearly used Camphor Burl Verite Open headphones originally purchased by Michael De Lazzer have arrived as my first pair of ZMF headphones. I was looking for a dynamic driver that wasn't a Utopia (been there already). @johnnypaddock provided some valuable insight and a nice price drew me in to these. I figured if they weren't for me, I could send them on to their next home. They arrived earlier today and they've quickly pulled me away from my Holo Bliss/Susvara evaluation into hours of Led Zeppelin from these and my Stellaris. So fun and plenty of catching up to do by reading this thread. Anyway, no real point to my drivel other than to say these are quite enjoyable. Carry on.

When you get a chance let us know how your new ZMF sounds out of the Bliss.
I'm well aware that tubes and Zmfs are the way to go, but curious about the Bliss, as there's very little info on this amp thus far

i wonder what the next top of the line zmf in 3-5 years will sound like past the Caldera and Verites-can't even imagine
Me, too.

I bought my first serious headphone from ZMF nearly 6 years ago. It was the Ori, at the time the ZMF flagship. The Ori hit it out of the park for me. I loved that sound then & still do.

I count 8 headphone launches since then (!). Can't think of another headphone mfr that maintained a similar pace. Consider the ZMF dynamics that followed (and now the planar Caldera): all hand-made, artisanal products using natural materials.

Over that time, my impression is ZMF has greatly expanded its market. Not only are individual ZMF models sought after (like the VO, my favorite headphone), but the ZMF "house sound" is now a known and valued thing in the marketplace.

(it's really a lot...)

I put a couple of hours in last night with the VO & Bliss combo - Hi-Z. Very nice pairing. I would be surprised to hear someone say they found it to be disappointing. Not tubes obviously but very enjoyable.

Added a few sets to the ZMF November Verite Open section for the last day as B-Stock. I found a few finished cups that didn't get made so I don't have pictures. They are aged genuine honduran mahogany cups, a set of Red Walnut and Camphor Burl thats slightly mis matched. These are good sets for anyone who is super weight sensitive as they likely will end up well below 450g as I will make sure to build them with aluminum grille and B stock MAG chassis.

Hey Zach, I was curious how the Atrium's magnet compared to the Verite's (& whether that plays a role in the punchiness of both models), and noticed that your site says the Verite uses N50, while the Atrium employs N52.

I did a search here and found this old post:
It goes n35, n50 and n52 from aeolus, auteur to Verite.

Does the Verite use the same powerful magnets as the Atrium?

Like all things in physics, I'm sure there's tradeoffs with more powerful magnets and it's all about finding the right balance.

Yeah the magnets on Atrium and Verite are the same, probably a typo on the website. Typically the stronger the magnet the more chbaxe the response will be even throughout as things get more sensitive in the driver construction. I've done tests in adding more magnets to the back of drivers with lesser strength magnets and while there are improvements in some areas, there's often nagative results in others. Which sometimes you can try to fix with damping in other places, but over damping a system can hurt it too.
