I've had all the suede pads solid or perf but not hybrid. Didn't care for anything other than Universe and BE-2 on the Verite Open, and same on the Closed.Has anyone tried Eikon or Auteur perf suede/hybrid pads on their Verite? How do they sound? I really liked what the Eikon perf suede pads did to my old Auteur, just wondering if it worth picking up another pair to try on the Verite.

I can't decide if I like the BE2 or Hybrid Suede more. I like BE2, but feels like there's a slight dip in the upper mids, right?
For my VO, i prefer the BE2 lamb perf because the Universe lamb perf is a little too boomy and the highs are a little muddy, IMO. The BE2 suits well especially with my Elise OTL because its a warm amp. For the VC, i never tried any universe pads but can swear by the solid Auteur hybrids.

Also, which hybrid suede are you talking about with your VO

Oh nice. I have been meaning to try those out for a while. I have two sets of universe perf lambs and would love to trade someone for a pair of different pads.Universe Hybrids (lamb/suede) -- Perforated
Yeah, I really like what the perf hybrids do to the upper mids and treble. Right more I'm rocking the BE2 perf -- trying to see which I like more.
One of the pad rolling reviews stated that the perf universe hybrids were one of the most unusual and least favorite... I guess that makes me weird. Lol

I thought so too... But, recently swapped Yggy from my 2 channel with my desktop BF2, and it brought up it up another notch. Just felt like I was getting more detail and easier to separate the instruments in complex passages. I kinda wish I hadn't tried it now... Ignorance is bliss (at least for my wallet). Now running Bifrost 2 -> BHC w/ Speedball -> Verite Open silkwood, BE2 or universe suede pads, upgraded from the Modius. There in fact is a difference between DAC's. I simply can't imagine sound getting any better for any genre. How much better can it get with several thousand dollar gear? Don't need it. This is it. Unless I get rich and it would be for curiosity. Serotonin for days.
Just got my shipment notification for my Blackwood. I. Am. So. Happy. Now.

Will definitely do that when they arrive. They were supposed to arrive on Sunday, but got held up in Chicago. Not sure what's going on. I'm just hoping they're in my hands by Wednesday.Have you received your African Blackwood Verites?

Thanks! The pictures are actually not very good. It was cloudy and raining when I took them. In the sunlight, you'd be able to see a lot more grain and color gradations. But, less than ideal pictures > no pictures.Beautiful African Blackwood Verites. Seriously!
Happy for you man. Am sure the wait was worth it; as always. The contrast between blackwood and silver grille and rod is simply stunning !I'm in audio heaven. Glad you got them! And nice pics! I sanded and sprayed another batch of ten sets today, because we have a great staff that does a TON of great work for us these days, I get to pick and choose what I want to work on a lot of the time, and whenever I have the chance I love working on the Blackwood sets. It's a beautiful looking, sounding, and feels great in the hand. When we get caught up enough I'm definitely going to make myself a set. =)
