Another Blackwood VO with aged copper grills! The aged copper color actually seems to match very well with the blackwood grain.

Aged copper is so beautiful here.

Anyone have experience with Cayin HA-6A pairing with verite open vs other tube amps like Feliks Elise? I am currently using the Ha6, it sounds wonderful but there's a lot of background noise so I am thinking of trying a different tube amp.
Though I've not tried the 6a and Elise, I did manage to hear the Euphoria and 300b Cayin with VO. I much prefer the DNA Starlett and Eddie Current Studio B to the Euphoria and Cayin. Zero noise and absolutely sings with the VO. Studio B is by far the best amp on a technical level that I heard but it is a warmer sounding amp than the Starlett but a much grander presentation and more resolving which it should be given the price difference between the 2 amps. By all accounts that I've read of A&S amps, it seem to match well with ZMF but take it with a grain of salt as I've not heard any of their amps yet. Might be tempted to get a Mogwai or Ovation somewhere down the line if I chose not to go for a Stellaris.

If you do decide to get the Studio B I'd highly recommend getting the Linlai e300b which is a more neutral sounding 300b tube. The JJs are a bit warmer which by all accounts should be a bad match with VO but there a certain lushness in the sound that I feel is addictive with my Ziricote VO. A bit of guilty pleasure sound if you will. For the Starlett feel free to stick with the stock tubes. Donald knows his tubes. All subjective of course.

Got my VO today! Sapele with copper rods. It wasn't as dark as I'd hoped but not as light as I'd feared either. Best I can do while avoiding the heavier woods I suppose. Looks as pretty as it sounds:

Whoa dude. You got good taste. The HD800S, the Ampsandsound amp...nice stuff.

Make sure to report back after burn-in on what you think about the Kinzie amp. I'm really interested in getting one of those for my VO!! Seems like it would be a big step up from my Bottlehead Crack :)

Haha thanks! I really like the Kenzie - again one of those things where looks match the sound. It was a natural upgrade for me from the Project Horizon I have. The Horizon and Kenzie are both more neutral with a sweetness to it compared to the traditional OTL sound. The Kenzie VO combo is sounding real good so far.

Beautiful picture. I just love the look of those aged copper rods.
I am sitting here trying to visualize what they would look like on my stabilized VC and if I could install them without messing up my cups...lol
Great pic...thanks for posting.

I'll hit like button 3 times (one for each photo) if I able to. Really nice set of wood, and lovely photography!

I have the exact same configuration in the works, except after a lot of deliberation I opted for untreated copper. Tough choice but obviously sexy either way!
