More like Black Label blended vs. a good 18 year old single malt Scotch whiskey.

Had the LCD2C, enjoyed it, but sold it once I got the Teak Auteur. There's a considerable increase in cost but you do get noticeable audible refinement and better build quality. I don't think they're really in comparable tiers.

I think it was mentioned before but imagine Zach selling a cigar box made out of the same type of wood as the headphone. With a nice matching smoking jacket, a complimenting whiskey, and the headphones all in one package.

What do you guys think about powering the Auteur with a Bottlehead Crack? I would love to have these one day as my end game, just curious what kind of amp you all pair the Auteur with! My HD650+Crack combo has redefined music listening for me, but upgrade-itis is real and I think I would rather save up for a ZMF dynamic instead of roaming around mid-fi hell... Anyways, what amp pairing has stood out for you all?

Get out of mid-fi. Agreed.

As for parings with the Auteur, there are many that work well. The Crack is one of them. Honestly, get to know the headphone well before you go looking for another amp for it. Know what improvements you want from your next one. Don't obsess about it yet.
