Was a cocobolo ltd.I'm curious if these are the regular Aeolus or limited editions. I ordered the regular Aeolus the first week of May and received it in late June, about seven weeks later.

Was a cocobolo ltd.
Mine was a regular one and took 14-15 weeks as well if I remember correct (ordered Jun 3). Lots of people with nothing to do but stare at walls during covid had the idea to order ZMF cans around the same time.
I ordered mine in May, and I am still waiting for it. Maybe the magnesium chassis is really delaying it?

Oh no, looks like i am going to develop this ocd of clicking the Aeolus excel spreadsheet 5 times a day lol
Took apart my grill today. Seems like the grill is the decorative part while there is actually a sticky baffle material. I’ll have to see if I can recreate that but I think I’m going to tackle recreating a new grill for my Aeolus in gunmetal. I think gunmetal/Sapele is a nice combo. I also ordered the hybrid pads as I’m interested in the smoother mids people are talking about with the Universe Suedes so looking forward to that coming in!

Packing up aeolus' today! LOTS of cocobolo and Sapele sets going out.
As far as the grilles - I can't recommend altering or taking apart the headphone at all. Although we built them to be modular and easily repairable, the wood factor makes any disassembly, especially when it concerns wood scews risky and potentially time consuming repair should something go wrong.

Awesome news, Zach! I really hope none of the old orders at the top are left out of this shipment round.
Having said this, I want to emphasize for anyone reading, that the amount of customization possible on one's order at any point, the amount of info Zach and Bevin provide, it's all second to none as an experience and more than makes up for the wait time.

The cocobolo with brass fittings looks sweeeet. Everytime I see mention of that wood I think of Better Call Saul.
Everytime I see mention of that wood I think of Better Call Saul.
What's funny is for me it was the opposite. When I heard Saul request a Cocobolo desk, I immediately thought of ZMF headphones because that was the only reason I knew what Cocobolo was. Almost all of my knowledge about wood is from reading these ZMF threads (sad but true). So thanks to Zach and all of you for keeping me educated

Just a quick "last call" on the Aeolus Cocobolo. After today we will pull it from the site and take a break from LTD editions for a bit. If you want one in Cocobolo this is your last chance!

just received mine yesterday. I expected perfection and this is what I got.
Fully agree. Pictures as beautiful as yours still don't do them justice. They are incredible in real life.
Mine came in today. I went for the lightest build possible and they don't disappoint on that front either. Will weigh them next week, but I am guessing very, very low 400s.

how dare you keep doing this.
also suede strap is sooooo comfy.
also they sound great. So refreshing to have something that just oozes pure fun. Pure class king.
Truly lovely wood! I've had cocobolo and have seen many pictures. It seems to come in shades of brown, like yours; or in shades or brownish red-to-maroon. The latter is what I had, and it's very pretty...but I find myself preferring the brown variant. The basic grain & figure "pop" more with brown.
PS: Genius move wanting SS screen w/that wood. I opted for SS w/blackwood and am very glad I did. The contrast is outstanding.

Thanks! I love SS with wood combo, my Verite is ziricote with SS. I also had a blackwood Aeolus, in which I paired with rose gold grills and rods. Was really quite striking, and blingy! (was sold to help pay for Verite purchase last year).

How much transparent Aeolus are compared to Auteur for example? While I like warm headphones, I sold my Campfire Cascade bcz they were less transparent and all music somehow sounded the same.
thanks!
thanks!
