Yuin PK1-PK2 impressions thread

PK1 is $159, so it's not really comparably priced with those phones (at least not the UM1, which is $99). From distant memory (sold the UM1s a long time ago), it crushes the UM1. Never owned the other two. Of course, we are talking amped, because that's the real way to listen to the PK1, in my view (I sold my pair, but still think very highly of them. I didn't use them much any more).

yuin have a new OK1/2/3 series coming soon to Head-Direct, I'll be getting the OK2 soon - before release - to post up my impression!

When is the new series being released? I was thinking of buying a pair of Pk1 or Pk2... should I wait for the new series?

I have been using my pk2 for sometime now, I'm not an audiophile not even close, but I have to say, they are amazing earbuds, even when using them in my meizu m6 I though they were pretty good, but then I tried it in the amplifier of hi-fi system and damn!

They sound so detailed, the soundstage was pretty good and the bass got better too,but still not for bassheads! I was listening to the Múm album, Yesterday was dramatic-Today is Ok, and heard sounds that I never noted/heard before when using them with the M6.

The only problem is the treble. It's good, but unamped or amped, sometimes is too much, that is why I only can use them with the donut pads.

Btw, anyone know where I can buy more donut pads for them?

I can't wait to read some review about the OK 1/2/3.

Sorry for my English.

Is PK1 worth the price difference over a PK2? I've read someone saying that both are quite similar...

If you are amping, the PK1 is supposedly better than PK2 or 3. I've not tried comparing myself. I just have the PK1.

I too was debating on which route to go.. I didn't intend to buy another amp, nor did I intend to carry an amp around with me for usage with my iPod. I chose the PK2 for this reason, and I'm very very pleased with them. ( I ordered from Todd btw. ) I've tried them with all my iPods and they sound wonderful, and I'm currently listening to them straight from my macbook right now. These little buggers are incredible really.

Are they really THAT good? Thats amazing! Little earbuds that can beat full size headphones!

How would the PK1's or PK2's compare to higher end cans such as the HFI-780, DT880 SR225 etc?

I've been rocking PK1's out of an iBasso D1 and also straight out of the hp jack of an iRiver H120 and various Sony Minidisc players. I can't believe my ears they sound so unbelievably good. They are also so incredibly comfy. In my relatively young head-fi life, these are the best purchase I have made so far bar none.

I don't know what to say but they come close.Maybe not as big of a soundstage(?) as 225's but pretty darn close. YMMV though. I don't want everyone to sell their 225's. The pk2's have their place.I put my 225's down and am listening to them now. I would have no problem purchasing them again.

They are definitely a nice earbud for someone that likes the grado sound.
