Your favourite "not the best" headphones?

I'd say my Philips X1's are definitely one of my all time favorites. For the money the comfort and sound are unmatched. They just do everything right. Plus the detachable cable with the simple 3.5mm plug is just to good. Love em!

Thanks,

My favorite good but not very good headphone is an older Fostex T50RP. It plays everything decently no matter what the source, and it never exhausts me. It's also very sturdy, so I don't have to be careful with it and I can relax.

Realistic LV10. I now have a halfway decent desktop amp and it gives them the right amount of juice to my liking.

All German Maestro products really, not massively marketed, well priced and sound is what they are all about. They may not be The Best, but they punch well above their price range.

Portapros! Awesome sound for cheap. They fit under my bike helmet, have little enough isolation that I can still be fully aware of my surroundings, and the KTC version has one of only two inline mics I've found that are good enough to use while cycling. I use them for every-day listening on walks and around the house, too...I love my DT770s and TF10s, but the Portapros are probably the headphone I would keep if I could only have one.

o.O SRH1540 are pretty up-there in terms of price...according to your signature, they're the most expensive ones you own, too.

I don't remember price being a concern for this thread and if we're talking about MSRP then my D600s are the most expensive given they retailed for $550 (thought I only paid $300).  Also my HD650s retail for $500 too.  My 1540s aren't as neutral (or aren't my best) headphones when compared to the HD650s so I think I've satisfied the criteria for this thread.
