Just a ballpark here, but I would say a "true" audiophile is someone who would get a second night shift job just to earn enough money to fly to a small hidden island near fiji, live there for two years to pick up the natives language, then hike 20 miles through a un-inhabited rainforest to the highest peak on the island where upon arrival, they bow in worship just to smell the flatuence of a man who is wearing a pair of sennheiser orpheus cans.  Again just a ballpark estimate.

lmao, +1 on this.  I'm still thinking the "EarPods" are still going to sound terrible.  I hear they don't even create a seal.

Meh. One can hope...

it is a 1 piece solid plastic body, no silicone tip or something do there is no way it will create a seal, afterall the original ibuds did not create any seal, i do want to try them though, so i can comment (or criticise them)

Those Eers seem very spendy. I'm always wary of glossy sites and new products; I mean I'm not saying that Shure or custom UE are good value for money, but at least they're established and not selling you a giant disposable system for something that takes a local audiologist about 2 minutes and $50 to do professionally.

I can put up with a couple of weeks of lead time for a guaranteed fit.

They're a Montreal based company and I know some of the people that work there (one of the family members of one of the workers is an active headfier).
I got to try them by shoving them in my ear and they didn't sound half bad.
The downside is that one the molds are set, they lose all the resale value.

Good LORD yes, I've been trying to prove to my brother that Beats are horrible ever since they came out.

I also bought him a pair of Monoprice 8320s for his birthday. Hoping to get him to turn into an audiophile... only problem is he hates wearing headphones...
