I don't think I will get around to writing my typical full review for xDuoo X2 anytime soon; just too much on my plate now and other upcoming reviews I committed to.  I have posted some of my impressions in this thread already, and will continue contributing, but in a meantime I wanted to post some of the pictures (click to enlarge).

As you all aware, this xDuoo X2 portable DAP is available from Penon audio for $55: http://penonaudio.com/xDuoo-X2

I feel so left out! xD

Did you contact Penon for replacement?

Competition has established the lowest possible price in the market and sellers gifts added to the player. Ordered one here. I ordered two impedance adapters 10 and 30 Ohm for testing

PS I have Topping NX1, a very good amplifier, and ShA offers discounted it now for $34.98

xDuoo's only listed authorized USA dealer, extremeaudio, will have shipment in 3 weeks if you guys are worried about product security (Aliexpress just seems shady, wouldn't risk that)

Also, I read previously that tags were potential sources of error.

If it helps, you could follow these steps to remove tags from your music in about 10 minutes or so:

1) Copy and paste your media collection into a different folder (Have 2 folders with identical music files now)
2) Use Yate (free program), or a program similar to it: Drag and drop all your files from only ONE folder onto the blank space
3) The tags will show up there
4) Select all files
5) Go to editor, select all fields, and then click clear fields
6) Now you have your music collection without any tags.

I have 120 songs (ranging from 320kbps to flac), was able to use this program to clear all the tags and album art and all that. For some reason, wasn't able to figure out how to do this with itunes (bleh), VLC, or Audacity.

Hope I helped at least one person!

FWIW, I tried to contact Extremeaudio just prior to release of the X2.  After receiving one short response that "We're working on getting it," all of my follow-up emails went ignored.  Their web site also appears very amateurish and is long out of date.

Did they provide you a US retail price?  Is it possible to order direct from Extremeaudio, or will they be distributing these products to retailers?

Just applied the firmware update, my Flacs that didnt play before are working now :)

Changes.
1, add "auto power off" in setting. the default time is 10 minutes
2. solved the problem that some FLAC can't be played.
3. add "VOL+/-" key for up and down when in MENU navigation
4. Changed some item name

Nice. Where we can download the new firmware?

So I just installed the new firmware ndburley sent me. I didn't have issues with my flac files before, so can't comment on that but yeah, the volume buttons work as navigation buttons in the menu now. I would have preferred if they made them work as volume buttons but at least they are not just wasted during folder navigation. There is also auto power off in the main settings and a bunch of English translation changes

I guess it is from when I emailed them asking about the specs at the start of the thread, I emailed them a few pictures and pointed them to this topic on Head-fi. They thanked me a lot and was happy to see the X2 being received well. Yesterday I got an email containing the firmware upgrade and I applied it today.
