I'm thinking about either getting the Sennheiser HD 280 which is the cheapest at $80

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-280-Pro-Headphones/dp/B000065BPB

The Audio Technica ATH M50 which I've heard about a lot and it's about $130

http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technic...2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1320802052&sr=1-2

And my last choice will be the Sol Republic Tracks HD. The HD one's are about $130 and the normal Sol Republic Tracks are $100. I read some reviews and they only compare theme to beat solos so I don't know if they're really any better than the other two?

So which one should I get? I'm really leaning towards SOL republic because I heard they sound great and I want headphones they'll last about a year or two. With Sol republic you can get a new can or headphone jack or a new band separately if they break instead of buying the whole headphones. But then again everyone keeps talking about how amazing the M50's are! If there are better headphones than all the ones listed above under $150 please let me know, thanks.

What kind of music do you listen to? Also I just picked up some HD439 (100$ at best buy) and they are awesome really comfortable and the velour replaceable pads are a huge plus! I put a review up last week, just look up sennheiser hd439

I'd go for the ATH-M50 if you are looking for bass response and aren't expecting too much in the mids. This isn't to say their mids are poor; it's more like there are other cans with better response in that frequency range.

Brainwavz HM5 with free FiiO E6 amp from MP4Nation

The pleather pads that come with these headphones are so comfy. I don't see why people like the M50 so much, their pads get hard and crusty and you can just use an equalizer if with the HM5 if you like bass emphasis. With a flat EQ setting, the HM5 have just enough bass as to not bleed into the other frequencies.

+1 for Brainwavz HM5/ Fischer Audio FA-003 / other clones Lindy, Jaycars etc...which are so much cheaper :)

M50s are seriously fairly good for the price range...but i would prefer the above.

Cheerz !

I'm still really stuck on whether to go with m50 or the hm5 now I wish I could listen to them both somewhere before to test it out before buying them. I guess I kinda am a basshead and I keep hearing that the hm5s are really laid back so it kind of lacks bass and idk if that's true xD thanks for the suggestions
and help hough!

The Ultrasone HFI-580 is better than the M50 in almost every area, IMO. You can usually get it for about $120.

I agree with the HM5 being too laid back for most situations. I only use them when I want to hear something totally relaxing and for mixing/production.
