YES! This album kicks ass and takes names on Grados. Also, it is a good album just in general.

I think you will like these aswell

i really wanna get ps1000s

I feel you. That price tag just kills me, though. If they were a grand or even $1200 I'd probably go for it, but $1700? Ugh.

Pricey perhaps but once you hear them on a synergetic rig - all other phones are dust gathering devices in comparison - only
the HD800 runs with PS1000 for sheer detail retrieval - the PS1000's are an inherently flawed masterpiece of audio goodness.

 PS1000 album 'du jour'

Ennio Morricone 'Mr spaghetti Western' delivers violin emotion on the score for 'The Mission' starring Robert De Niro.

Highly recommend track #3 - Gabriel's Oboe. Beautiful. Goose bumps.

The PS1000 runs along in the very upper echelon of audio reproduction, I am fortunate enough to have access to a very special 2 channel rig and believe
it or not - the big Grado can actually better this rig for sheer resolution -

Vienna Acoustic (flagship) 'The Music Floorstanders - $35,000RRP
 Luxman 600-A Power Amp $7995RRP
 Luxman 600-f Pre-Amp $7995RRP
 Luxman D-05 CD Player $5995
 Nordost QB4 Board - $999
Van Den Hul Gold Hybrid Speaker Cabling - $800
Van Den Hull 'The Hill' XLR interconnects - $800

Total cost - just short of $60,000 worth of stereo right there, not exactly peanuts and boy does it sound great and yet it still plays second fiddle to the PS1000.

PS1000 doesn't seem that much compared to the cost of that 2 channel rig.

The cabling alone will almost buy the cans.  lol

 So true!

But remember its not all gravy - the PS1000 really does deserve careful (read: expensive) source and amping componentry.

At the moment, my recommendations for anyone contemplating a supremo PS1000 rig including the headphones themselves

Rega or Audio-gd Ref 7.1 DAC is a good choice, plenty of others will do the job too - nothing too analytical though - they're a
a fun headphone in the end, but amping is very crucial - the best I've heard thus far being (in no special order) the Luxman P1-u Head Amp (about $2500 in Australia)
the Ray Samuels Raptor ($1400 ish landed) and the Sugden HA-4 Masterclass (about $2000 if you shop around)

Again - expensive but its only when you listen to a $50K+ speaker rig that you realise how amazing they are.

I'd argue that a T1 can pretty well match the detail presented by the PS1000, and I tend to prefer it when in an analytical mood. However, my analytical moods are not very common, so I find myself alone with my PS1000 setup and some great tunes rather often.

That's true - its a pretty thin line actually at the top with those three, PS1k,HD800 and T1 - PS1000 has the sheer soundstage advantage though, imaging is slightly closer call.

Ps1000s are better for dance music than the hd800s they have more of a smack to the bass, and for movies i would choose the grados over the sennheisers because of the bass once again!

I like the T1 because it's got the detail and general sound characteristics of the HD800, but isn't so bass-anemic. Still, the PS1000 has it beat for involvement.

ps1000 is my ultimate goal, hoping to sell RS1 and pro 900 and maybe even LCD-2 to buy it.
