Pretty high. I never had any qualms about spending money to audio equipment. Since I was a kid I wanted my dad to buy me better headphones, though he always brought me some cheapie stuff. I aimed towards Porta Pro as a end-and-all headphone (rrright...
), after reading some favorable reviews in different tech magazines. Eventually I got KTX/Pro original version, and later when it broke I got Sporta Pro.
I had some old (and surprisingly good) Pioneer stereo amplifier, Sony two-way speakers which I got from my older sister, and DIY subwoofer with 8" element (dont remember what brand, it wasnt real subwoofer element but normal bass element), and later DIY subwoofer with 12" Rockwood car-sub element. Subs were connected through passive treble-filter to Sony integrated rack system (where the 2-way speakers belonged originally), which was connected from AUX to Pioneers headphone output. (My Pioneer didnt automute speakers when headphone was plugged, they were toggleable and worked like a charm!)
That was quite a system. I could adjust overall volume from the Pioneer, and adjust the subwoofers strength separately from Sonys volumeknob and 5-band EQ. Far from Hifi, but it showed that I was a real headfi-looney candidate since birth.
I wish I could do some speaker system again someday, but this time with knowledge I have now...
