I may be wrong, but I think the Ultrasone Pro-series of headphones are similar to the Beats Pro in sound sig. Dunno, I might have to hear the Beats Pro again.

the beats pro are very sibilant like its studio counterpart which make them very unsuited for very sensitive people like me.

im pretty sure both the srh750dj and ath m50s are better then the beats pros. but i have never heard the beats pros so i dont know.

I've only tried them out at best buy, but my $63 Denon D1001 certainly sound better than the beats pro's I heard.

I can compare them to the Shure SRH840's. (a cheaper option, if you dont care about looks)

I had the beats studio pros last month - awful. Ok, not awful, but $450 (in Canada) is a lot and the $150 SRH750DJ I just picked up are better - no doubt. For one thing the Beats leak like crazy. I used them in my library (at university) the first day owning them and could tell that there was sound escaping (eyeshots. lol). Just to be clear - I do NOT listen to music very loud..
 
Don't bother with Beats. Sorry but they're worth ~$75 and the rest is the "Dr Dre." surcharge lol.
