What are the most emotionally involving/stirring headphones you've ever listened to?

I think I need to come over and try the R10 on the new amp?

Are you interested?

The Grado HP-2. I'm probably hearing more distortion and fuzzimification than the average owner, due to my portable source, but it can only scale upward...

They bring me closer to the music and the musicians, without adding distracting limitations or coloration of their own.

Sure. We actually need to set up an area meet, since there hasn't been one for awhile. Thrice and I have talked about it, but we haven't done much yet. in the meantime, you're welcome to come by anytime. Drop me an email and we can set something up.

PMB100 orthodynamic Jecklins. Terrible with some music, but for the most emotionally-involving kind of vocals, I can't listen to dynamic headphones anymore since I found the MBs.

For me it would be my modified PS-1s with R10 as a distant second. But there are a couple other headphones that I find preferable over the R10 so emotional involvement isnt everything. Imo I don't see how any AKG could ever be in anyone's top spot in this area because AKG strives for objective nuetrality (well actually I might be able to see K340 but still...) imo, but to each his/her own.

I second the sentiments for a DC meet. We recently had many of the outlets grounded and have more than plenty of wide open spaces (Riboge knows, he used to own it

) so I'd be more than happy to host. It'd be fun to do a comparo between your amp and my amp Mark and see what the sonic differences are.

Right now I feel for me it's the AKG K240 Sextett. I can get more detail or accuracy with my other phones, but it's so anti-analytical that it's so easy to get drawn into the music emotionally.
