There's a bit of info about Tyr in the Schiit thread. Sounds like it'll be Class A-ish like the Aegir, and much more powerful. Monoblock only. About $1600 a side. FWIW, Jason said it's the best product Schiit has ever produced.

You are knowledgable and on point. Tyr may be more than 2x the power of Aegir, time will tell. If Jason pulls it off the Stereophile fans will go bonkers.

I've been using my Asus cd/dvd/blu-ray machine for a few years, but in the past year or so it's begun introducing clicks and skips into my iTunes imports. Should I get another, or are there better buys?

A used Oppo blu-ray/UHD blu-ray players should be great if you can find one used. Supposedly Reavon UHD blu-ray players are true successors to the Oppo players, but that might just be marketing speak.
