Maybe Mike Can Clarify. But it is kind of my point. if it is in fact a Balanced output Phono Stage, who knew? And Beyond that a pretty kick ass option if you ask me that seemed to get lost in the noise.

The phono card is balanced at the output, where the phono signal has been amplified to the point where a 6db increase in noise is inaudible.

The missing ingredient, which was identified by Baldr, is that the phono cartridge coils do NOT provide a center tap to ground, which a truly balanced configuration demands. That is why he eschews work around configurations.

Not necessary -- it floats.  See the 'balanced phono' area of Vinylengine.

So, how does the Jot Phono amp compare to the Mani?  Is it a similar design?

Yup, similar but not identical.  The Mani is intended to be more of a "one size fits all", having gain-adjustable structures suitable for low-output moving coils right up to very high output Deccas.  Because of this, the Mani has one more gain stage.  The Jotunphono has lower gain suitable for moving magnets only.  The Jotunphono also has the circuit balanced at the ass end, to avoid doubling the noise at the input by using these fatuous cables to quasi-float-balance your phono system at the input so you can brag "phono balanced" to your lamest of audio comrades.
Not to piss in anybody's Cheerios, but use of those cables are noisier and pointless at best.  If you have Decca cartridges (the only cartridges which allow their users, even if atheist to see God) or many other variable reluctance carts, you will be treated to distorted mono sound.

It is 3 am on the West Coast. Don't you sleep?

Measurements?

You could be completely right. But I haven't data anywhere else noting this.

Like many mad geniuses, he's a night owl.

He is a mad genius that I want to stick around for a while. He needs to:

1. Take an aspirin every day (2 cardiac risk factors: Male and over 40)
2. Check a lipid profile and watch BP.
3. Colonoscopy every ten years
4. Yearly check up and EKG.
5. Get your beauty sleep

And, living in California, he can now avail himself to recreational marijuana.

Eat it. Do not smoke it. 1 joint does as much damage as a pack of cigarettes.

Can you link to three or four peer-reviewed academic journal articles to justify your claim?

That's what vapes are for.

Sorry, there is data to suggest that the associated chemicals in nonpharmacological vaporization can lead to fibrotic lung disease. They may be worse that cigarettes themselves.

I cannot speak to personal communication that has yet to undergo peer review.

Discussion of health-protective measures to ensure Baldr's long life is touching and I'm all for it, but it is also one of the more interesting off-topic diversions I've seen in years.

Of course up here in Idaho weed is still illegal. The busiest store in the state of Washington is on I-90 at the WA-ID border.   Apparently lot's of Idahoans want to enjoy their music too.
