Anyone done ES3X in smoke or translucent black/grey? Is there only one cord color choice, clear?

I had them in smoke prior to switching to iceblue +clear faceplate. I love the colour of both. Cable there's brown, beige, black, and clear.

Felix - is the iceblue essentially translucent light blue? Any shots of the smoke? What cable did you get?

Here's a pic of mine.

They are actually not that transparent, it's just the lighting when i took the picture, but you get the general idea.

So smoke isn't transparent? - what cable color is that?

I was planning on getting the clear cord - but heard that the Westone clear cable would actually discolor?

It's translucent, I think the only 100% transparent colour is Clear. My cable is black.

Clear cable tends to turn green over time, same for every other brand, even though it doesn't affect the sound quality.

Hi y'all,

Check out the new NuForce uDAC in the HPA's First Impressions thread here: http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f7/fir...if-out-456945/. If you have $99 (US) hanging around and want to try out something that gives the Pico Amp/DAC a run for the money but, for 1/4 the price, this might be one way to go!

When paired with my Sonett as a DAC--in my humble opinion--its presentation is better balanced, dynamic, fuller and more musical. Very good synergy with the Sonett! All these descriptors are using the ES3X. HPA indicates that it's a good match for several other's too. Take a look!

I got my ES3X this afternoon! All I can say is WOW! Wide soundstage, really well balanced, and the detail is just amazing. I can't find anything I don't like.

I'm auditioning it with my iPhone playing Dream Theater's Images and Words. Portnoy's drumming never been so energetic, vocals are super clear, and bass and guitar are very well balanced.

I also tried a bit with my PA2v2 Clip+ combo but the PA2v2 gain is still too much (I use it to drive G1A when I'm mobile), need to adjust a bit so it doesn't hiss.

I just bought myself an iqube to pair with my iphone 3gs. I went personally to the official shop because I work nearby. I thought iphone 3gs sounds fenomenal with my es3x but the iqube blow 3gs headphone out. The soundstage expanded, clarity, definition is just much better.
This May qables will start an offer to give out their silvercab pro cables for free if you buy an iqube. I think its a really got deal! I upgrade the offer to silvercab hybrid by paying 20 euro extra. The silvercab pro is wonderful but silvercab hybrid add even more to the warmth and width.
