Waiting for New AKG Flagship Headphones

Screw this. On the other hand, thanks for saving my money, AKG.

Ya. I agree..

Atleast AKG still maintains affordable pricing. Although i am not sure how many people would chose a 250-275 USD K701 to a 450-500 USD Q701. Certainly AKG should have something extra to sell in the Q701 other than the attractive colours.

Comments from AKG in facebook

"Good questions/comments everyone. To answer your questions on the what's unique about the new Quincy Signature Line, we'd like to let you know that Quincy Jones himself worked with us to design a headphone that made aesthetic changes to ref...lect more of his personal touch. The models come in black, white (with lime green accents) and a proprietary lime green color only available within the Signature Line. Also, the 330s and the 460s will feature an inline microphone that will work with mobile devices such as the iPhone and Blackberry and a remote control (only compatible with iPhones) to play, pause and skip through music so that people can still have a quality sound experience for lifestyles that are increasingly more mobile and on the go."

One of the greatest engineers/producers of our time. You should care about that, though it still has nothing to do with headphones.

in deed, amazon slash big price on K702 for the last few weeks ago.

Isn't street price right now $250.00 ? It went down from more than 400. I could probably afford those 250 bucks

To be honest, if the price is much different from Q701. I would think K702 is a good deal. Unless you really love the Green Globin.

I believe MSRP on the K701s is still somewhere around $499, but low demand usually causes retailers to take advantage of the ridiculously huge margin on headphones. I'd bet retailers like Amazon will end up eventually selling these fellas for a similar price supposing AKG gives them the same cost price.

Even if there is a huge either love or hate feeling for the 701/2s in this forum, I think they would be worth the try for such a low price
