I doubt the R50 will have better isoation than the shure se-215.

I think both are almost the same with shure olives, even though the SE-215 should be ported due to the dynamic driver.

But the SE-535 is a whole other level of isolation. Almost overkill ..

really? I thought the se-215 and the 535 were basically built identically, just tuned differently?
however, I can't be sure of that.

First off, love your name, been a fan since Seas of Cheese. But no, the 215 and 535 use entirely different drivers, technologies, tunings, casings, etc.

haha thanks- primus sucks!^^. my youth was all primus and claypool plus I play bass.
alright, I didn't know the shure's were so different. thanks for pointing that out.

I tried to shootout the se-215 and the R50 with the same tips ( shure olives) and the se-215 gave me better isolation.
I think it's because the shell of the se-215 is bigger and fills out my ear more. the whole fit just seems tighter with it.

sorry for the off topic talk.

It sounds like at least one or two people have both the VC02's and the new VC1000. As a happy, broke VC02 owner ("sorry about the wallet" indeed!), I'd very much appreciate a comparison between these two.

Thanks in advance!

They are a ture upgrade to the vc02 which I have, bass is tighter faster , mids are foward with excellent clarity and micro detail is more present, highs are smoother with better extension, soundstage is deeper and wider with excellent imaging and speed never sound compressed or sllured. I'm now using the vc02 xxs black tips and that has given me that excellent sound plus the 115hrs of burn in , I'm still going to give them my 300hr burn in routine :D

Has no one else really taken a chance on these IEMs?  Are they a large improvement over the GR01?  Just hard to believe the lack of updates on this thread :frowning2:
