I’ve yoyo’d back and forth a bunch over the elysium until I eventually placed a custom order back in March that I couldn’t fulfill due to covid. I’m glad I got it finally though.

That's the real question. I've often contemplated the Elysium and wondered if I could live with, not just bass from a BA but a single BA at that. Could the mids alluring enough to mitigate that? Only an actual demo will tell.
It isn’t really about the alluring mids replacing bass or subbass...they don’t.
What they do do, is present an extremely unique and breathtakingly detailed texture and liveliness to a key part of our music that is seldom heard in any tuning.
If you’re someone for whom bass is an “all or nothing” proposition, skip the ely...simple.
However, for everyone else, the unique tuning of the Elysium is a must-hear. And many will likely be liable to fall in love upon first listen.
And don’t think about the “single” ba...the bass on the Elysium is simply phenomenal in detail and texture. It is simply light in the overall signature. Really, the fact that only one ba is in play here, makes what you hear that much more impressive.
I got my Elysium on Friday and so far I’m appreciating this implementation of estat drivers here vs. the Empire Ears Wraith. Still taking it in but I think these highs are as good as the U18T.
The mid range is awesome and really the unique aspect of these IEMs.
On the bass side...I was pleasantly surprised at the output here. I’m not into EDM so I can’t test in that capacity. I did listen to Another One Bites the Dust and some blues on SiriusXM and while my Head wasn’t shaking, the bass was definitely there.
Lastly, the packing and design of IEMs is great!
