Hi All, new owner of a VE 10 here. Despite having the opportunity to try the top tier items like the Aroma Audio Fei Wan, Fir Audio offerings or the Volurs, the VE10's mids and overall immersive presentation sounded right and I knew right there and then that this was a keeper alongside my Sennheiser IE900 and Simgot EA1000. EXTs sounded excellent to but oh the sweet sweet thick mids of the VE 10 was a must for me, no other IEMs I have tried offered this presentation which to my ears is most natural.

Like someone mentioned here, I was actually almost was on the verge of buying the Trifectas, but they are indeed a specialist IEM and I listen to a wide variety of music.

One question to the community here, does the VE 10 sound less hissy and sibilant with burn in over time? Or would my usage of the IfI gryphon as a dac/amp be the problem? I am generally sensitive to BA timbre, by right now it's too much from the VE10s

Still hisses on most of my equipment unfortunately. Astell&Kern Daps seem to be the best for this with no audible hiss from the CA1000... the Hiby R6 pro II is also very good and the Mojo 2 alone doesn't hiss either.

don't have access to ifi gryphon for testing. but my experience with ifi go blu is that hiss is audible for most VE and EE iems. it's audible during quite passage but not really terrible. and with most music playing, it's no longer audible. better yet, the dongle is smart enough to shut down the output when there's no signal input. i won't worry a lot for the hiss issue. hope this help.

Hi, Is this the Vision Ears primary thread for owners and prospective owners?

Just ordered a new Vision Ears Phoenix (Black). I should have it tomorrow. It will be my first VE pair of IEMs. Any cable upgrades people like or do most prefer the stock cable?

The best cable I ever heard with the Phonix was the Effect Audio Fusion 1. The synergy was superb. Holographic type feel with lots of air around everything. Great detail, and I recall the already great VE mids seeming to sound even better with this cable. Twister 6 reviewed the Fusion 1 and gave his thoughts on the pairing with Phonix. He rated this pairing quite highly.

I do have my Astell&Kern NOVUS stock cable that's a custom cable by Effect Audio that's also Silver, gold, and copper. It might have the same effect? It's 23.7awg Litz 4-wire cable.

If you are happy with the buying spree that is all that matters but surprised you have not tried to track down the Phonix limited edition (where there is a will there is a way)

I actually didn't even really know about the LE Phönix. Is the tuning or drivers any different?

Edit: I see it has a little less bass emphasis, a little more upper mid emphasis as well as treble Prescence. These are the drier more analytical version of the Phoenix it seems. I've already got supper technical resolution and details in a colder IEM called the Noble Audio Viking Ragnar. So I think the OG Phoenix version will suit me best.

I’ve not head the Novus stock cable so I’m not able to compare it to the Fusion 1 I’m afraid.

I have a feeling they have similarities. Not sure what AWG wire the Fusion 1 uses though. The novus one is the 23.7 AWG

Debuted at the Hong Kong AV Show last month - and not uncommon for new product to debut at or around shows
I'm not mad or anything. I just would have rather used the last of my Bloom Audio store credit on the VE EXT MK II instead of the Phönix. Having said that, I've already got one of the best bass enhanced IEMs currently available on the market. The Astell&Kern NOVUS. So the EXT MK II would be redundant.

I prefer to have complimentary IEMs instead of very similar ones. I feel like all of my current IEMs compliment one another really well.

The EXT MK II looks pretty awesome though!

Hey guys, can I ask if anyone has paired the Vision Ears Phönix I just bought with the Eletech "Ode to Laura" cable? I haven't had the chance to try it on the Phönix just yet, but that cable transformed my Fei Wan into a masterpiece.

One of main guys at Bloom Audio paired them together a while back, but he couldn't remember the sound signature change from the stock cable.
