I would need to have a universal handy next to me to make the comparison properly... I'll just say bass presence would have stuck a bit more with me if it had been what it is...
On a sidenote I received DX300 today and let me tell you it's a great match with the Elysium, it has enough authority to drive the Ely, the stage is more expanded than the M8 which is honestly a real surprise... DX300 is more linear than the M8 the bass is less authoritative and has less slam but I find mids even more beautiful and highs to have more energy.

Great! This track is completely inside the wheelhouse of the Elysium. It just sounds terrific on it. Adam Ben Ezra is not too bad either! I listened off of YouTube and a Dragonfly Red with my iPhone and it was fabulous. Tks.This track is a good example of the uniqueness of the Elysium IMHO :

Of all the Vision Ears, are the VE6X2 the ones that come closest to "studio" iem?

The VE3.2 would probably be the one. The VE6X2 still has a warmer tilt to it.
