how much of a percentage loss of bass is there with the brainwavz? http://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Replacement-Memory-Foam-Earpads/dp/B00OLKV5LI/ref=pd_sim_23_6?ie=UTF8&dpID=31zp0k5rd4L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=077K4Q6MCHCWY8B3Q6K1#Ask

Go with the massdrop pads. I've tried the brainwavz pads and they don't really stand up to some of the hype they've been given before. They are comfy, but are so thick that it negatively impacts the sound.
After all, the massdrop pads are made specifically for the m50x. I don't think you'll be disappointed..

The Velour pads drop has ended of course, but I want to inform you guys that the drop will be starting again soon for those who missed it, they just need 5 more requests to activate the drop.
Btw, has anybody got their pads yet? Mine will be shipping soon. Just wondering what your impressions are

The drop was started again if you missed the drop for velour pads btw for anyone wondering. I posted the link earlier in the thread.
I have smaller ears than some so these should be good. They're coming in the mail soon for me

Just got the Sound Professionals velour pad from the Massdrop deal, and yes they are more comfy than the stock pleather pads on the M50x. However, as mentioned before - BE PREPARED for the reduction in bass quantity. For my ears, the bass becomes significantly less impactful. If you are a bass-head, velour pads are probably not for you. Compared directly to my quarter-modded Grado SR60 (circa 2007), the M50x's w/ Sound Professional pads have more emphasis on treble, with less emphasis on mids and bass (although the bass is still tight - just doesn't have the umph like it does stock).

Hopefully that helps with what to expect. Sometimes a change in SQ is not a bad thing, just takes some getting used to!

Meh, i was thinking on getting the SP Velour pads, but i guess i'll stick with the EDT250V with Masking Tape on the back. Might consider picking them up on a next drop though, but the EDT250V do their job well.

So i read the entire thread and it seems that the massdrop velour pads are working well for most folks. Can anyone compare how the sound and comfort of the massdrop velour pads compares to the shure 840 pad replacement?

Another great option is Yaxi Velour and St pads. The St pleather is designed to tremendously improve comfort and finish while retaining stock sound, while the velour do what velour do.
