V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Try a different cable. I had that problem with my M-80.

So I did some research on audio terms. So the M-100, while its freq graph is close to a LP, actually sounds different because it has a greater attack and faster decay? Thus fast music does not sound like one long mess, right? Each kick in a double bass can be easily felt instead of blurring into each other, so they don't sound weaker than they should. And thanks to this, they do not sound boomy like the LPs?

Did you try other seats? There's a higher chance it was the crappy seat controls. You could try using the M-100 with other movies on your home setup to see if that's the case. I tend to use my M-100 quite a bit at home - great isolation for baby cries.

I was using my iPad at the time -- I am not giving up on it yet, going to do some more testing next trip, but luckily I haven't had to travel lately

Does anyone have any Bjorn Lynne stuff, and if so, how do they sound?
I love his music.

If you have Spotify; This track:

Bjørn Lynne – Jooli's Song
(Especially at 4:10)

Or ones like this made by him?

If you have never heard his stuff, you should certainly give it a listen. I want to know how the M-100's handle detailed songs like this.

So I got my M100s (They shipped to my actual house and my dad shipped them to my dorm so I wouldn't have to pay the stupid tax fees [lol tax evasion!]). Anyways, on the comfort, if you never really attained yourself or used the LPs or LP2s I must say these are MUCH more comfortable then those. I find that the earpads are much more rigid already allowing for your ears to be a lot less scrunched and squished into the actual cup of the headphone.

If you have comfort issues, train your ears to use them by wearing them for 45mins to an hour at a time for 3-4 times a day. After a week you won't feel much pain unless you wear them for 3-4 hours at a time.

P.S. - Putting custom shields on is the biggest b**** I have ever done relating to headphones lol!

You guys are in for a treat. I'm posting photos right now and I'll add brief comparisons later:

I take back what I said about adding more bass; the ZO2 on green (barely yellow) setting is really great with the M-100!

HiFiMan HM-101 vs O2/ODAC with M-100
From what I heard through the HM-101, don't waste your money on it, a FiiO E7 sounds much better and the $20 difference is well worth it in my honest opinion

AKG Q 701 vs M-100
(off-topic: the O2 pairs WONDERFULLY with the K/Q 701/701, muuuuch better than with a NuForce Icon iDo or Schiit Bifrost/Lyr combo)

Fostex T50RP - MrSpeakers Mad Dogs (you bet that's a red V-MODA cable) vs M-100

Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro vs M-100

Ultrasone PRO900 vs M-100 (I will just say this right here, right now: the PRO900 is the worst headphone I've heard and I would rather listen to a Beats Solo over it...yeah it's that bad in my opinion)

Why not? Sony XB500 vs M-100

Mainly for the HD650 vs M-100 (even though it's not the same rig)

Denon AH-D2000 vs M-100

Fostex T50RP - Mayflower

AKG K 701 vs M-100

AKG K550 vs M-100

@miceblue... Or anyone else

I should have me m100s Tuesday and ill be using it mainly with my Rocoo P, and and occasionally on my HTC EVO 4G LTE. Anyway. What would you recommend more? The e7 or the zo2? Keep in mind that the Rocoo P is already amped.

ZO2 for mobile listening, E7 for home listening, at least for me.

The ZO2 adds funness to your music without ruining the rest of the sound spectrum on the green/green-yellow colour (I have NO idea how this thing works, but it does and it's amazing).
The E7 makes the M-100 sound more clean and transparent; adding width to the soundstage, more space between instruments, better treble extension, has a punchy bass sound, and overall just makes things sound clearer.
^ so really it depends on your personal preferences.

miceblue enjoying it with ZO, that's interesting. I wonder how it would pair with ZO2.1 as ZO2.1 tends to have more lower-mid presence than ZO2.3 which would be perfect for M100.
