Got my V-Moda M80 from an Amazon sale (it was at $90, couldn't pass it up) so I guess I'm part of the community now.

So what da ya think!  The M-80 is my favorite on-ear!

It is actually really good; I intended to have the M80 as a replacement to my SRH840 as a portable can for reasons of size and comfort.

Turns out the sound is pretty balanced with a slight bass emphasis, plus its sensitivity makes it easy to drive on my phone whenever the Walkman/ALO loses juice.

Is there any comparison between the m80 and the sennheiser momentum on ear? Because i cannot find one. I know that the XS are out now but its $200 flat at amazon and my budget is maxed out at $150. And m80 is heavily discounted at 110 and < 150 for the momentum in ears. Which is more comfy and better sound overall. I'm coming from a koss portapro by the way and I'm leaning towards that bassy sound signature but also wants a good midrange/vocals.

For comfort alone, the MOE. It took me 2 weeks before I found the M-80 comfortable enough to wear for more than 20 minutes. The sound between the M-80 and the MOE are similar with the MOE offering more treble sparkle and the M-80 offering a richer mid-range and more impactful bass.

Tom22 has done YouTube reviews of both the MOE and the XS (which is super similar to the M-80 in sound). Check out his impressions here.

For more than "20 mins" ? Wow, is the m80 really uncomfortable? Will the comfort improved over time?

So, the m80 will be more "bang for the buck" since its priced at $110 and $150 for the MOE. I'm slightly leaning towards the m80 now...

Hey guys! I find the M-80 a little too warm for my tastes. (theres a slight lack of clarity on the highs)
But comfort is top-notch for those of you who are wearing glasses! (like me)

Would it be a good idea for me to find a 3.5 to 3.5 cable replacement ? Since I never use the mic anyway, and was wondering if I could improve the sound sig to my liking by changing the cable.

There are volume differences when using a cable with a microphone and one without if your source has microphone input built into the headphone out(like a smartphone). V-MODA makes audio-only cables which sell for $12 and Radio Shack sells Auvio cables that go for $15.

Just got mines in and they sound surprisingly balanced. But, mines didn't come with the 3-button cord for some reason. Other than that, these are phenomenal.

It is now a different "version" for the 3-button mic, I think.

Electronic?  Totally.  Classical?  Not really, but if it is very little, then you will be fine with whatever.

Now, M80 vs. CAL2, that's a tough one.  I noted that CAL2 with Shure SRH750 earpads (upgrade in sound) is relatively on par with HD360pro (which I still have).  I would suggest trying M80 and CAL2 if you can, which is better is a toss up as they are pretty close, both have about as much advantage as disadvantage versus each other.  The stock pads muddy up the bass on CAL2, and to a lesser extent, the soundstaging and lower midrange as well.
