Does the comfort get better overtime? Clamping is a little strong and I wear glasses.

I have not found these to be the least bit uncomfortable...the headband is bendable I think

I'll try stretching them out some more.

yes the headband is bendable but overall in my review of the sennheiser momentum on ears

i did feel that they were more comfortable than the v-moda xs (the earpads are more breathable) and oddly enough it felt more secure on the head as well (i think v-moda should try thickening the headband)--> giving it more stability similar to the momentums

heres the link the momentum on ears (on my youtube channel) skip to the comfort and sound quality portions (when i refer to the v-moda xs)

i did find them about on par with the v-moda xs ( though personally i think i might give the edge to the xs) the midrange is just gorgeous. despite the treble on the momentums pouncing the xs (in terms of articulation and detail).

the bass on the xs is punchier (which can be a great thing but at times can be a detriment on slower acoustic tracks)

overall i find the xs a better all arounder than the momentum on ears

I would give the edge to the XS too. The mid range is gorgeous. I feel like the XS's treble is a little more upfront than the Momentums though, but still not harsh. They sound like a mini M-100 but with no exaggerated V-Shape (I didn't like the mids of the M-100 though). I  was wearing my XS today and they were more comfortable than yesterday, but I would give comfort to the Momentums because of the memory foam/velour like pads. The XS with velour pads would be wonderful.

Each day I am enjoying my XS more and more. I have zero comfort issues. The bass rumbles when it should, unlike the M100, which was very bass heavy. I love the mids and the treble is fine. The only thing that makes my T51p's excel is the
amount the detail. Sometimes the detail is not there on the XS.

FYI, for anyone that switches out shields often (or even once for that matter) I highly recommend a good quality hex driver (1.5mm); like this one:

Totally makes the job so much simpler than using the little allen wrench provided by V-moda. The one in the link above is the one I use and it is made of high quality metal and grips the hex screws well, which helps to prevent stripping. Plus the larger handle makes turning the hex a breeze.

You can find them on ebay and a number of other places.

Well I just got my XS in. I ordered on Sunday night and got them in 3 days. Highly recommend ordering directly through V-Moda as you get an extra shield and audio only cable.

I am very surprised how much smaller they are now with the hinges in place. the case is about half the size of what the M-80 was. The comfort is a lot better than the M80. I do not feel nearly as much clamp force as I did on the M-80. Comfort is a lot better now.

Still giving them a run through with my usual music and I am enjoying them. I am very glad I got these as my new work and portable cans.

The XS have turned my M-100s into cans that never leave the house. Oops.

I was wondering if anyone here has ever done an A - B Test between V-Moda XS and Beyerdynamic Tesla T 51 p?

If so, what were/are your impressions? Primarily in terms of overall SQ, Sound Sig, SoundStage, etc ...

Thanks!

I have both...so yes I have. I thoroughly enjoy both sound signatures. Stronger mids in XS...The T51p's have great bass that goes deep down with much detail. The XS in comparison have deep bass very satisfying and a bit more than what I'd consider as neutral, it rumbles when it should. XS, The mids are up front and clear and the treble has a very nice sparkle, better I think  on the XS. In terms of soundstaging, the XS's are a wider sound stage than the T51p. I think the T51p allow more details to get through in general.

Comfort, you could flip a coin...can't go wrong with either. Accessories and packaging....nod to XS...if you buy straight from VModa you get an additional audio only cable and extra shields.

Build, VModa without a doubt

Portability, XS

I would not hesitate to purchase either one. Both are some of the best portables around.

Hope this helps if I can answer any more questions let me know.

Thanks, that's a great answer, exactly the type of response I was hoping to receive. I have less of an interest in a clear midrange than I do bass and treble. I would not rate myself a 'basshead', but I DO want to hear it (and I dare say even feel it) when its there. I don't want anemic-sounding bass in my earphones or headphones. But I also want to have good crystal clear highs with lots of sparkle and no sibilance. I don't like hearing highs that sound veiled or that have that typical sardine-can sound if you know what I mean.

I have my eye on both right now, but am going to have to wait for now as both are way out of my budget at the moment. Like many others out there I have champagne tastes on a beer budget. But its fun to look anyway ...

Thanks again!
