Question - I recently bought an ifi Go Link on a lark and am absolutely floored at how much better it sounds than pretty much anything else I've used:

- NW-ZX507
- All the Fiio junk: Q11, BtR5, BtR7, etc
- Apple dongle

What's the deal with these guys - is this just the "house" sound signature for ifi? Like, would the Go Bar or Go Blu have the same basic sound? If I like this sound sig, what would be similar in a full fledged DAP?

Anybody tried Shanling H0 ?

I believe that this is a "China Market Only" product, but somehow is available on Amazon.de

At the price (120$) seems like a good notebook DAC/AMP.

I see this Shanling H0 has a line out, interesting... Anybody knows other dongles featuring a line out ?
The only one that comes to my mind right now are the Lotoo Paw S2 and Cayin RU7.

Shanling had another unit (H2?) that seemed interesting on paper but I think died nearly as soon as it started. Looked something like this; maybe this is the second iteration?

I think a fair number of the higher end DAC AMPs have line out functions. But I am completely spoiled by the RU7 because it is zero maintenance and just works.

Apparently, H0 is H2 sans battery and card slot - just what I need + volume dial 👍

Ordered from Amazon, so returning it will not be a problem. Should I decide to keep it, I will sell the Hip DAC 3 (I like the sound, but charging the battery is an unnecessary hassle).

I use lightning (till the release of the Iphone SE4). Would you choose the moondrop dawn pro + apple camera adapter or the fiio ka11 for planar iems? i read that moondrop is a bit bright and fiio is warmer. it is also smaller but doesnt have volume control or a balanced output. difficult decision. What would you do?

For a more expensive iem I think the ibasso dc07 pro is the best choice.

Hi Thanks for the words of support, we appreciate it very much!

I would say from a personal opinion that "Yes" there is a sound present across our gear. I am also a big fan of this sound even back before I worked for the company, it was exactly what I was looking for.

Different gear will have different benefits for different gear, I have a GO Bar Kensei and another step forward for me as I enjoy the K2 HD processing from JVC.

Cheers!!

There’s an M15C on the way, the build and specs look effectively the same as the M15i, but with a single CS43198 chip. Looks cool, I’ll pick one up once it’s available.

So is it an upgrade or a downgrade vs M15i ?

My impression is it’s meant more as a side grade to give a different sound. That said, looking over the initial specs the M15C lists a peak output of 42mW into 300 ohms from the 4.4mm balanced out, whereas the M15 had 22.6mW. I’m not sure what to make of that as the 3.5mm output specs are almost identical, and from the descriptions everything in the amp circuit seems the same. I dunno if the specs are reported slightly differently, like peak vs continuous.
