USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

@rlw6534 I was looking at smaller forms like the JM20/JA11/KA11 but now I will consider the Moondrop too.

Anyone have the FIIO BTR5 with its ESS DAC to make comparison ? Hoping to upgrade the audio quality from this or at least match it.

If Im going to consider the Moondrop at its higher price and bigger size, then I feel I must give the M15C consideration.
I was very intrigued by your description of the sub bass. They are only £10 apart.

I briefly owned the M15C. They did the job but I didn't find anything to cause me to rave about them. I don't know about the Moondrops, but if people actually rave that would be a good sign. I returned my M15C to Amazon. I think I was trying to go the low cost route, but if I am to purchase another dongle I think I need to reach above my current pair not below. One gets spoiled. Now I am daydreaming about the ROHM based iBasso DC Elite. Ah, I should just be happy with the RU7.

Fosi Audio DS2 is a solid pick

No BS, balanced and SE output. Small but powerful. Clean sound. Robust build.

I still use the Meizu Hifi Pro, it sounds great with my Beoplay H6 and my T + A Solitaire T. I don't have anything to compare it with, would like to try one with a balanced output.

I have only tried the Dawn Pro briefly months ago, so I don't remember much about it.
If I had to pick, I would go for the M15C if they are only £10 apart in your case.

Just tried the Elite, if you like sub bass emphasis and dislike mid bass then it’s pretty good. It’s crisp but pretty smooth and linear outside of the bass. Very expansive sounding, just not for me. Stick with RU7/RU6 if you like analog.

For a reasonably priced unit this looks pretty good. My son "borrowed" my backup DAC and cheapo Moondrop and if it doesn't return I would look at the Fosi for my gym bag.
