If you mean the sonata HD, then definitely choose the Meizu. The Sonata sounds bad, measures bad, and has bad hardware volume.
If you mean the Sonata HD Pro, then it's another story. I would still take the Meizu, but there's definitely more of an argument there.

I agree with Static that, for the non-pro versions Meizu > Tempotec/Hidizs.

On the other hand, if you go for the pro versions, I prefer the Tempotec. Be aware, also, that the Meizu suffers from EMI noise over LTE. Depending on the sensitivity of your 'phones, it may or may not be an issue, but it was enough for me to sell mine.

I'm a mod for E1DA, so feel free to ignore what I'm saying.
A while back I compare the HD Pro, Meizu Pro, and 9038S. I remember that the Meizu and Sonata traded blows, but ultimately I preferred the Meizu. Between the HD Pro and the 9038S it was a clear victory for the latter. More detail and naturality.

If they aren't Apple certified and they draw too much power, then you'll get a warning message and the dongles won't work.

It works. Since I got lotoo "lighting to Usb C". I get an adapter which "usb-c female to female"
You can try on this kind of adapter also.

I am using this 1.

I had a previous question here that was answered by ibasso. The ibasso dc02 is what I purchased and can be used as a dac only. Phone at full volume with the dc02 produces a 2v line level signal to use with a separate external amp. If anyone else was wondering.
