Micro-usb is a no go for me. Too much 20th century :xf_eek:)
Micro USB is on the dongle side so no biggie. Apogee Groove and CEntrance dacPortHD both uses MicroSD on dongle side. It didn't stop them from performing greatly and durable at the same time. Micro USB-USB C cable solves that issue easily

If I'm being honest I wish they'd update it. I'm sure it's fantastic but the non-reversibility of MicroUSB kills me every time I have to use a device with it. Perhaps there's a limitation on the interface chip of those devices hmm. Must do research.

(btw, fancy seeing you here Andy, thanks for featuring my article 😃)

I have a second hand Ovidius B1 on its way to me! This thread has been very helpful in looking for something that fits my requirements. I have a DX220 DAP for music listening, will be interested to see how the B1 stacks up, especially in terms of soundstage.

@OspreyAndy HUGE thanks to you for your extensive reviewing of dongles. An absolute goldmine of info!!

I have both and the E35 is more powerful but is larger and has a attached cable. S9 Pro is superior to both but the E1DA 9038D is another option.
I have a correction. I already have the Sonata HD pro. I don't why I worded it the way I did. So, is the S9 Pro still worth buying? Is it that much better? I'm leaning towards S9 Pro because the balanced output. Thanks.

FiiO released this on their Instagram feed the other day:
"The upgraded 2021 version of the Flagship Portable HiFi Bluetooth DAC and Amplifier BTR5.
The new BTR5 2021 takes an all-new ES9219C DAC, which has better performance and stronger decoding ability. While ensuring low power and higher SNR, it is capable of handling MQA decoding"
