i din't think i need latest sabre hifi bell and whistles, an older sabre dac should be enough as i only listen to mp3, i am not even sure i will hear the difference with sabre chip from my apple $10 dongle dac but i am curious to test if there is an audible sabre sound signature. the other reason is i often read my iems ( bqeyz spring1 and hzsound heart mirror) could benefit from a more powerfull source, which does not make much sense(what difference between 10mw dac at 50% and 100mw dac at 5%?? except it will eat my smartphone battery faster ) but i'll check it out for myself if i can find an affordable sabre dongle dac

DC03 suits the sound you're looking for. And it's not bulky actually. Just the pics made them look big

just curious why sabre dongle dac are so expensive, a recent sabre chip like es9219c in the ua1 pro is $12 (unit price, less in volumes ). if they can make $3 dongle dac with a $1 crappy chip, why can't they make a $15 dac with sabre chip ?

Profit margins and marketing spends with some "premium" branding. Nothing else.
