Thank you, I ordered the CX-Pro Audio 31993 that seems to be the budget king by far.

Where did you order it from?

I ordered mine here, shipping was free:

Jcally JM20 is also back in stock on AE, albeit at inflated price due to high demand:

I just ordered the CX31993 as well. Ive been using a Meizu Pro for a while which is still working great. I use it with my Focal Elear with Clear pads with my Pixel 5 for the times I don't want to be hooked to an amp. It has plenty of power and never needs to be at more than 52% volume. I'll compare the two and use whichever sounds better and the other will be a backup for when one of them breaks or dies or gets lost or whatever. For $14 shipped why not try it.

Pls keep us updated on the recently hyped budget dongles like CX31993, X1, JM04Pro etc. The more impressions the better for everyone. I'm quite skeptical, but of course I would be definitely happy if any of these are actually nice. (would be happy to see more comparisons against the 30-40usd range as well like es9270 dacs, sonata hd/hd pro etc)

Uhh... why don't you buy one and give us your thoughts? What do you think the rest of us are doing?

Lol what's the point of this forum then if not sharing impressions to help each other so we don't have to buy every single dongle individually?

I shared my experiences which I thought to be useful but you're free to ask about any of my gear if you want.

I just suggested to people who ordered it to not forget posting some impressions so that the opionon on these obscure dongles become more balanced.

Besides the new EU import law + rising shipping fees increase price of cheap stuff from china considerably, it's just not worth buying every crap any more, need to make more informed decisions.

Is there anything on the same technical level but slightly warmer/less clinical?
I had a W2 to test against a THX Onyx.

I sold the W2 it as I preferred the Onyx sound and form factor. W2 owners (seem to) gripe about battery life and the lightning connector not working well.

Onyx doesn't have:
Spdif out
Lcd Screen
Optional eq's (basic)
Control buttons
Balanced 4.4 output

To me that simplicity is a bonus

But most importantly, the Onyx sound suited me slightly better.
