USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Davy, I'm starting to lean towards an issue with the beta firmware? The following from the log file repeats with each attempt to play a track:

018-09-13 22:16:01.017: Retrying: isPlaying() = false
2018-09-13 22:16:01.023: linkSpeed = -1 Mbps

2018-09-13 22:17:11.250: linkSpeed = -1 Mbps
2018-09-13 22:17:11.263: Metered network!
2018-09-13 22:17:11.296: Exception in HTTP seek! java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unbalanced enter/exit
2018-09-13 22:17:11.301: IllegalStateException in fetchData! closed for Tidal2018:09:13 22:17:11.302 AV init: Couldn't open input http://ab-pr-ak.audio.tidal.com/685...fb961f374e543b20180bf479801f59090b1b6f1ce01a1, res = Network dropped connection because of reset

2018:09:13 22:17:16.315 getTotalLengthMilliseconds() called when sample rate = 44100

This is an issue with the network/devices handling of the connection correct?

I'm sorry, I should have obviously address subscription/login first thing in my original post! I just renewed my subscription a few days ago (because you're right, it does happen lol...new c/c). I double triple, etc. checked my login credentials and for reference just cleared the app data/cache and took screenshots of the login process showing UAPP successfully connecting to my account and favorites tab.

As far as option #4 I have used this login successfully in the past, but my email does have an underscore and a less popular domain address. Is it worth attempting to change my email on file with tidal and try that?

I have also started a log file if necessary.

Thank you!!

Ok, if you come that far, it probably means you have a standard subscription and not a HiFi subscription. The default quality setting is 'Lossless' for WiFi connections, but those tracks can only be played if you are on a HiFi subscription.
An underscore does not matter in this case.

Definitely on a HiFi Subscription.

Morning. So there was a USB Audio Player Pro app update that allows for MQA streams decoding. I updated and purchased the decoder, but when I try to play MQA streams, I receive a message saying, “cannot sample in bit perfect mode.” Anyone know what this means? Thanks.

Here’s a link regarding the update: https://www.extreamsd.com/index.php...cXVj34u1Rdh9ys9zZanaZzHxZP1En5EYLYahiiSSHyJkQ

There is a check in the app that if your DAC cannot play 88.2 and 96kHz, it would block you from purchasing. Apparently that check failed. Could you please tell me which Android device and DAC you use (internal or USB)?

Thanks for the response. I’m using the Pioneer XDP-300r.

The Pioneer only does 44.1, 48, 96 and 192 and not 88.2. So you did not receive the warning/error message about the 88.2 and 96 rates not being available? The problem is that the stream needs to be bit-perfect and we are not allowed to change the audio after that, so the Pioneer/Onkyo would only be able to play 48kHz tracks that would unfold to 96kHz. Ironically, the Pioneer/Onkyo player will play MQA, but is allowed to resample.

Ahhh interesting. Wish I would have known that before making the purchase, lol. But yeah, I didn’t receive a message saying those rates being unavailable. No biggie. Thanks for explaining that to me. I appreciate it!

Ugh! I see I tested if 44.1 and 48 were present. If you want, drop us an email and we'll refund your order until we sort this out with MQA.

Did you update to UAPP 5.0?

Davy-question regarding MQA Core decoder in the latest update: Will this be a full decoder i.e., won't require a USB DAC w/MQA rendering to operate? IOW, UAPP won't do the first "unfold" and require a renderer (like say an IFI IDSD Nano Black Label) to do the final unfold? It will do it all? Thanks, and, although I haven't installed it yet, what an impressive update!

It's a MQA decoder, performing the first unfold of the MQA signal. It does not require a MQA renderer, although if you connect one, the renderer will further 'unfold' the MQA stream and match the DAC to the original ADC.
