~400 dollars to spend

Current Headphones:
m50
K701

To order
hd 598

I've had my eyes on the 598 for a while for its mids (and looks) so I'm pretty sure I'm getting them (but suggestions for <200 cans with mids are welcome; im also curious about orthos).

I'm looking for headphones that have a unique sound signature from the m50's, 701's and 598's. If I order the 598's I have 230$ to spend on these set of headphones. I'm running out of a e9/e7 combo.

DT990 ( 250 Ohm )
They compliment my M50's and AH-D2000's quite nicely.  Honestly they are one of the more enjoyable headphones I have listened to yet.  I have tried everything from T1,T5,HD-650,HD-800, and just like the DT990's because they up front, have punchy bass, but the highs are nicely represented as well.  I love hearing the driver work which is always one thing I listen to in a good pair of cans.

The AH-D2000 is another great can that will sound nothing like the M50 and K701.  In fact, I think it is on the "Top 10" list over at Headroom.

I really want to get the 600ohms if i do get the DT990's. Maybe I'll just save up. I actually think the DT880's are more suited for me though since I have more rock (alt/indie) than techno.

any <200$ ortho suggestions?

Thanks

I think I forgot to mention that the headphones need to be on amazon. I just traded in a bunch of old college textbooks so I'm getting an amazon giftcard.

I have an e7/e9 combo. I also have a vintage kenwood amp but it was too big for my dorm room so I don't have it with me.

Next upgrade is probably going to be the amp and dac but I havent started looking yet since I wont come into any big money for a while.

40s are the same for modding. Instead of felt, they put plastic over the lower port to make them closed. You can push a paperclip through the vents to dislodge the plastic, then mod away...

there's is actually 2 fostex t50rp at amazon now. All I have to do is wait and hope that by the time that my trade in gets approved, there will be one left. Also have the sure 840 pads to replace the stock ones in the shopping cart. Does further modding of the t50rp really change the sound that much?
