Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread

@svyr,

Thx to you, in the other Merlins thread where we went OT (:wink:), for reminding me re-tuning is possible with UM. Stephen  Guo was extremely obliging in letting me re-tune my SE530x8. I honestly can't praise this man enough and if I had a business, I'd love for him to be my distributor!

My FR chart is as per post #2847 back last year and I'm trying to have the 20Hz and 10kHz raised by a few dB.

cheers :) . well as I said before - (I think) UM doesn't want customers to end up miserable after spending $800 and pretty nice and flexible about that :).
Hope it works out. (link to the chart of what I was going to end up with for SM3x6 (same as your se530x8) and what I got is in http://www.head-fi.org/gallery/image/view/album/571313/id/528715/sort/null )

Just got this reshelled TF10 retaining the UE sockets from UM Philippines. Nice build quality.

I am happy with the result.  Due to excellent isolation, I have heard new details in the music.

The reshelled TF10 resulted to a more balanced presentation with a more solid bass.

The nice thing is that I do not hear my footsteps while walking.

Fit is excellent  and comfort is better compared to my favorite eartips--the Klipsch oval gels.

yes.. the first is flush.. and the second is the original socket for TF10..

I'm wondering if anyone tried out the IE8 reshell option... it has been half a year since the service is available...

I'm wondering If the UE socket option allows the new right angled UE custom cable to be fitted unto a reshelled TF10. cause I'm planning to get a UE custom right angled cable for my UM reshelled TF10

 if you ask for extruding socket then they will fit... and last time I checked with Stephen, he said if you want to keep the TF10 sockets then they will most likely be extruding like the original TF10 sockets and fit the original TF10 cables... I asked UM Lab to make them flush while maintaining the TF10 sized sockets... hopefully they did it, because those extruding sockets look horrible with any other cable...
