Unique Melody Remold Impressions Thread

Not really referring to anything in particular, just everything that I've seen. Aero still has it anyway.

Now that Christmas is near I want to spend money. I can get a reshell plus mid for $380 plus tf10, or sell the tf10 and spend $550> on a 1964-T.
Does anyone have a chart of tf10x4 versus tf10 remoulded, or any impressions on it?

Hi everyone,

just wanted to ask what the lines on the graph from UM mean? there are 3 lines so i'm not sure which is what. got my um3x remolded back and they're awesome except for some problem in my right ear.

i'm not sure if it's fit, my hearing, or the drivers are quieter (hence the question about the graph)

ANY HELP APPRECIATED :D

I'm under an impression they plot 2 lines - LR and channel imbalance would be a 1-2+db difference you see on a graph for a rather wide band (of course it depends how smoothed the graph is, etc, but um yea)

So it looks like I'll be sending back at least the right side of my SE530x8 for a shell refit or reshelling altogether 'cos I don't think I can wear the right side for too long without hurting my ear. Whilst at it, I find that I'm still missing the detail of my TF10's (esp having the SE530x8 without an amp - the SE530x8 sounded best out of my Accuphase, and decent with a portable amp, but average off the iPhone).

What are members' opinions of me reshelling/upgrading my TF10s to TF18's too? Talking to Custom-IEM, the upgrades would basically still be based of the original. i.e. a TF18 > TF10, and SE530x8 > SE530 but TF18 <> SE530x8. So if I preferred the TF10 over the SE530, then I should prefer the TF18 over the SE530x8?

P.S. as to what I'm looking for, detail. In general even for home speakers, I call into the "analytical" rather than "musical" category.

Cheers...would you be able to confirm that the TF18's would sound different to the SE530x8? In terms of specs, they both (TF18 & SE530x8) have their 2xlows, 2xmids, 2xhighs, & 2xsuper highs.

I just don't wanna end up spending another $800 for the TF18's to end up sounding like the SE530x8. I'm hoping for "significantly" different sound signature (with a strong emphasis on the TF10 as a base "plus more"). I really wish I knew the lingo more to describe more accurately what I mean.

They aren't as different as one might imagine.  After turfing a high driver and adding six more, theres not much SE530 left!

No chance, sorry buddy unless you do a rush build through UMGlobal (www.uniquemelody.co).  Theres a public holiday from the 1st to the 7th that should see a bit of downtime and delays with orders.

I'm just wondering how long is the reshelling process? I'm wanting to do one for my TF10, but I'm going overseas on the 18th next month and I'm hoping it could be done before that
