I believe a good amp with adjustable bass like the LISA III could very well help to tune the Mage's bass to everyone's personal preference in terms of quantity. Portable amps that have good bass per se (RSA, for instance) could also be enough already.

(I've heard of a couple of UE11 owners who have to EQ the UE11's bass down on their iPod because it's far too much for them.)

Exellent review! I don't think i have the experience to write a review accurate like the one from Maodi but i'll post my comments(as soon as possible) based on my only other iem, Shure SE530.

Regarding the accessories that come with Mage, i received other than the soft pouch, a metallic blue\black semi-rigid carrying case maybe not stilish like metallic case from UE but very useful.

Thanks. Look good and sturdy enough to protect the custom. Might even fit a clip+ inside as well.

I think it can protect customs very well; inside it has a mesh pocket too.

Yes that is the case i was talking about in the review, it's the one that comes with the remolds. I guess they threw that in with the Mage now?

Great review! How does the bass from the Mage compare to the SE530?

Haven't heard the Se530 in a long time, i'm sure sosrah can go into more detail. I find the Se530's lows much warmer and has less impact. Power wise, the Se530 might be "more" powerful, but the Mage takes accuracy, speed, tone, and transient.

MaoDi

Sorry if I missed it, but, what was the audio 'source' did you use for this review?

Thank you.

Mainly my Asus D2X on my Desktop, and my Laptop with the AV200 from Asus. Then secondary is N95 + Little Dot MKI+ and AMP3 PRO2,
