Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

Ultrasone pro 550 has much more flatter bass response than pro 900 and highs are rolled off so it contributes to the "flatter" sound impression. At first pro 550 was very very aggressive, but burn in was spectacular :)  from up front to bass heavy and than the truth which I end up not liking.

Wow, that must really suck having cans burn into a sound you dislike. Kind of like loving listening to them but in the back of your mind, you want to preserve the driver a little longer.

Yeah it was quite a ride, now they are gone and that is a relief.

That is what I expect them to be, but from reading got the impression that pro series have some things in common. Well, @dubstepgirl wrote that they are good with electronic but with everything it seams a little off and that is what I experienced more, less. If the soundstage has layers, that would be great improvement over pro 550.

I've listened to the pro550, and the pro900 is in a completely different league in terms of resolution and soundstage.

They are definitely late-bloomers, although I enjoyed mine immediately out-of-the-box

I finally feel in love with these headphones after 3 months of owning them. Burn in took forever on these. Like almost no distortion anymore and sibilance almost all gone.

Well folk's it's been good. I just took my 900s off after giving them a final listen, I'll be shipping these bad boys out early tommorow morning. I'll be receiving my D5000's sometime in the next few days.

Stay classy, unsubscribed.

The velour pads still leak a bit but once you have them on, the sound blocks out everything.

For the time being, I"ll see what people suggest. Especially, since in Europe they go for 400 from authorized dealers. Amazon is pretty much my benchmark, atm: http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?__mk_de_DE=%C5M%C5Z%D5%D1&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ultrasone+pro900&x=0&y=0

You might want to adjust that price considering what they cost new. I hate to break it to you, but that's how prices go.

Yeah, no reason to set the price at €300 if somebody is willing to pay €400

I bought mine from that eBay seller I linked to, and they ship from the UK. They are NOT, however, autorized resellers.
