No matter how hard you try to deny them, they will sound the way they do. Incredible bass, horible mids and super high highs

The sound signature completely changed when I got my Asgard, the highs on my DT770 are far more sharp than the 900s now.

Just ordered the PRO 900 after months of debating it. I hope they're better than my bass headphones i already have which are the M-Audio Q40 and the PRO700MK2. 99% of my huge music collection is 320 or FLAC Electronic music..

Should have bought mine, brand new drivers/cups from Ultrasone $175/shipped! I own both the Pro 900 and ATH700MK2. The Pros out class the ATH in every way, but the mid bass is more punchy on the MK2. The MK2 is also veiled and dark/muddy as hell. You'll love the 900 coming from that.

Wish i had asked here first :frowning2: that's a good price. Thanks for the reply though. I love the slam on the PRO700MK2. Looking forward to owning a premium headphone like the PRO 900.

Just know the Pro 900 is suited for EDM/Rap and the tonal signature takes a little getting used to so I wouldn't try to A/B it to death, just enjoy. If I still listened to mostly EDM I wouldn't dream of selling the set. What is your source/amp?

Thanks for the reply my friend. i have listened to the Ultrasone PRO 900 this morning and i can't say i'm impressed. They sound distorted compared to the PRO700MK2 for some reason. Will burn in sort this out? The bass just seems distorted.

I'm using the Asus Xonar Essence STX II sound card. I wish i still had my Fiio X5 to plug them into because the STX II has a high output impedance. But surely the bass wouldn't distort this much through the STX II.

Idk how to explain. I bought this before and burned for about 30 hours. The mids recessed. The highs are harsh to me with high volume. I returned it to amazon.

Yes, i cant  comment how good it can be if it is burned in till 200 hours. But still, mids remain the same which I dislike it a lot.

Depends on you, your preference

I used OPA2134's in my STX, had to bump the low end in EQ for that extra oomph. Don't know about distortion though... I didn't have an issue.

On my E11+Galaxy S Voodoo my Pro 900s are sublime. I can zone out to that combo in any genre. They say these cans need a lot of burn in, but my new drivers sound fine. I also just tested them on my Bifrost 4490+Asgard and the results were quite decent as well. The excellent bass of the Pro900 was controlled and calculated like never before.

The mids are recessed and the highs are sharp (less so than the DT770 by comparison) these are a 'V shaped' headphone after all. You don't buy these to listen to Radiohead at a reference level.

Home improvement project: pads done with velvet? you can decide

- two rings, like in original pads, insides of memory foam(solid ring)+ring of soft cotton, mesh, plastic base cut from plastic cap-drilled-sanded holes 0.2mm aprox, did not check. Cost unknown, since I got enough foam for five more pairs+6 of slightly harder foam, other materials under 25eur total.Goal to get size and comfort to edition 10 level. Sound quality to be yet judged. Pictures separately prototype, on - 00 series
