I think you should use an adaptor like this
I purchased a 3.5mm to 2.5mm cable from ebay (I think). I also bought a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter from Alliexpress

There is one 4-pole 3.5mm cable with Icarus III, I just suspected whether it is for balanced connection..Since Icarus doesn't have 4 pin 3.5 mm jack in balanced settings, these adapter will either not work or even damage your device. You can never connect Single ended terminated headphones into balanced output, no matter if you get fitting adapter. You need to reterminate cable or change cable.
I actually got a tracking number for my PM6 ordered July 5, 2016! Tracking number isn't showing on the website yet so not getting m hopes up until it's here. Still nothing for Hunters or the Airs.
The most difficult part is to verify the female port configuration. It makes sense to me that it should be L+/R+/L-/R-, so it works for both 3-pole and 4-pole cables.Bina understands the issue. This is not just about adapting the size of plugs.
My Icarus 3 came with two cables. One was straight up 3.5mm; the other was balanced 2.5mm. But that one had a non-standard balance approach, which I gather was used in their proposed digital audio player and maybe a few other units in the wild. But I figured maybe there was a way to get this unit to be compatible with industry standard balanced outputs. Two of the DAP units I am looking at have balanced output so I thought it would be nice to use the Icarus 3 with proper cabling.
