Hi, I'm relatively new to Head-FI, so here goes...

What in your opinion is the best value/SQ/ thrashable headphone out there?

My source is usually an iPod or iPad, amped or unamped.

I'm thinking of Senn HD25s, but would welcome your thoughts and advice.

Thanks!

For noisy travel (light rail or airplane), I usually like to use IEMs. My pair is an old Shure e3c, but am thinking about upgrading to a JH13. When things are a little quieter or I am in a hotel room, I usually use a Sony MDR-7509HD. They fold up for easy storage and I really enjoy their sound.

I own a pair of Bose QC15's for airplane, or other noisy travel. They make air travel much more bearable, albeit not the best sound (not bad though). I have HD650's and LCD-2's (on the way) but don't necessarily want to take them on journeys because of their expense and relative fragility.

Any suggestions for a set of nice sounding cans for when I arrive at the hotel?

Thanks...

I used the RE0 AND the Shure 840 without the cord over the RE0. Talk about isolation! Best plane trip I had and didn't have a headache after. I left them in almost the entire flight. When I did the ambient noise was tremendous. So as silly as it sounds. Try it.
