sr-325

1.somewhat tight on the ears although WAY better with modded hd-414 pads
2.the cord twists...
3.questionable portability
BUT they are my favorite headphones BY FAR as of now.

ath-ad7

1. i HATE the wing support headband
2.sounds crappy compared to the sr-325
3.i cant figure out what is wrong with the sound but something is...
4.big (although light)
5.questionable portability (not that i would wear them in public)
redeeming qualities? not really.

hd-280

1. unsatisfying bass
2. a little tight
3. ugly
4. questionable portability although they do fold and may be good ear warmers.
although, they are extremely good dj headphones and thats the only reason i have them.

sr-60

1.dont sound as good as even the hd-280's

good beater headphones though.

hd580:
2 side Y cable, i prefer 1 side cable like hp890

hd497:
startrek look, after 1h uncomfortable, Y cable

hp890:
poor mids, very dark - dungeon like sonic signature, indistinct-blurred but very havy bass

We have tallked a lot about sonics so I post only other kind of annoyances:

KS35s - The pads gets broken easily, you need to change it frequently

HD495s - Too open, late at night you can here all the highs coming out of them from the other room

MX500 - Hurt my ears, doesn't seal well, the bass escapes

Aiwa HP-V163 - The silver parts are too bright for my tastes, but considering what I said at the top, they're almost perfect

By the way, I like all my cans sonics more or less, otherwise I would sell it or give it away, there's no point to have something you don't like collecting dust...

Alessandro MS-1s

Even after the quarter mod, they seem laid back and recessed. While they kick the crap out of anything I've heard near the price, it leaves me yearning for the MS-2... I need more money.

dt880 - the large circular cups and loose fit. They'd always move around, and sometimes fall off my head.

sr-325 - weight and leakage, bright out of a portable

mx300 - clear sound, but boring for portable use. Cord is too short.

ms1 - sound is dull at times

HD650 - they make me lust for a Zu. And an Orpheus.

$10 sony buds - sound isn't too good, colored, breaks every 5 seconds

RS1 - sound f'ed up my ears, price

HD580s: I wish they had pleather earpads. I like to use them for a long time, but in the summer time, or when its really hot I don't want to sweat on them (hot ear-syndrome) so I take them off and use canalphones. Plus I like the single cord design of the 590s better than the y-split cable into the housing.

Edit: other than that, no complaints, I love them

sr225: Not the most comfortable pads (and Im using vwaps).... and their damn ugly too

e2c: MOST UNCOMFORTABLE TIPS EVER, I wont use foams. After actually getting used to the tips it was ok, but that was after I used a bit of ear cleaner to lub my ears......

er-6: Harshness, I hate it. And it makes me wonder if getting 4p's will make that big a difference (damn you upgraditis)... I also hate having to put them in and out all the time, they just dont stay in properly

ex70: waaay too much bass... and I didn't seem to hear much else of the spectrum. Their ok when using with a custom EQ (if you can get it right). But just dont compare to er6 in terms of detail.

cd780: Sony has gone and picked the exact treble frequency where my ears will complain vehemently and put a nice spike there... enough said. Damn comfy though (although the cloth over the pads is WAY too damn expensive to replace)

grado sr80 : clamp
sony mdr 51 ex : SO distant and tiny sound
Shure e2: have to buy foamies all the time(gonna try musicsafe, earplanes i think)
Senn hd212pro: looks dorky.
senn mx300: lost them
Roland RH80: no detailed distorted highs

hd555: lacks that deep bass I crave once in a while, especially with techno/dance music.

px200: needs an amp or eq tweaks to even out the sound.

mx500: too big for my ears, ouch!
