If you'd like to donate any of those crappy phones once you get the HE90's, just give me a PM

I didn't say they were crappy phones, just that they are not an HE90.

who knows, maybe I won't like the HE90 as much as some of my other cans and I'll sell that instead.

blind purchases are fun.

HD580 - The need of an expensive cable to really shine; too laid back for certain genres.

SR80 - Lack of any real soundstage; sandpaper-like pads.

A900 - Too warm (literally) for extended use; the midrange suck-out.

K501 - Distant bass; too dull and lifeless; weird soundstage.

What I hate the most about headphones?

Well, I hate that the music appears to be inside our head.
Individual Instruments, vocals, backgrounds, sound in very strange positions.
A pair of headphones will never match the tridementional sound that a good pair of speakers reproduces. Also, ears always get irritated.

I listen to my headphones because my stereo disturbs other people.

MDRV6. Not much action below ~40 Hz. Contrary to most, I dont mind the upper midrange projection. It puts john petrucci and Tommy shaw front-center stage in my head

Sennheiser HD650 with Zu - Average build quality (headphones not zucable), vice grip hurts (although not as much as grado flat or bowls). Sound signature too dark.

Grado 225 with woody mod - beautiful wood still doesnt conceal shoddy workmanship and quality control and the part of gradolabs. Not enough soundstage. Most uncomfortable phones in the world. Ok for first .5 hours then feels like sandpaper on ears. Flats grate your inner ear, bowls hurt the outer ear.

Etymotic Er6i - High maintenance, thin sound, no soundstage, no slam, bass doesnt have enough ooomff. Look fragile. But still best portable phones available.

Ath-W1000 - Not enough bass slam. Not as smooth as HD650.

Eggo D66 - Sounds like tin. No bass

Grado SR-80 - Unrefined. No excitement. Crap build. Bad comfort (any pad).
