Grado SR-80 very bright? Do you have them with bowls pads? If it is, get the flats and you will sove this problem, Grado are known to have a very warm sound.

HD555: Could be more exciting, but I don't really complain since it allows me to listen for extended periods of time and some metal I listen to have such annoying production (screechy highs) that I wouldn't survive with any phones having emphasized treble.

E2C: Weird soundstage, but I guess it's inherent to canalphones. Highs need some EQing. Comfort is only so and so with my small earcanals, right canal is okay, but left one has stupid curvature and I can't get the best seal quickly (using modified sleeves, a pair of reusable silicon earplugs, bilsom 555/556 small).
