Anyways, I feel like a lot of people sell the slam short on the VC. At least with my Blackwood VC and Cherry Atrium, the difference in slam wasn't massive. The Atrium has more heft for sure tho. I think the slower driver helps lend itself to that effect, where the Be driver's speed doesn't quite give off the same effect because it starts and stops on a dime.

Really? The slam on my VCs is nothing short of amazing (I'm listening to them on a Feliks Elise). Slam-wise they blow any other cans out of the water in my opinion, with the possible exception of the LCD-4 and 1266.

There's probably some slight differences in how people perceive the "heft" and "slam" on the ZMF's depending on the audio chain.Really? +1, on my tube amp my Aeolus kick like a mule, maybe even harder than my VC (while on SS my VC kick harder)There's probably some slight differences in how people perceive the "heft" and "slam" on the ZMF's depending on the audio chain.
pads too, my VCs do slam really hard on the leather universe pads but I tend to listen on the auteur pads which are not as slammy to my ears

Our own humble take on the new Atrium is now published
A very smooth-sounding headphone with some nice tweaks with the optional perforated mesh. Pair it with a good amp to get the best out of them.

I’m really enjoying an Atrium loaner over the holiday weekend.
Not an Auteur replacement, but rather a wonderful complement.
